[PS3] Stuck in permanent load (system error, event movement related)

So I went to do an instanced battle and got a 2 minute load, and when it was over I was not in the instance. I went to try a second time and after I had already clicked the NPC and accepted the instance I noticed in the chat log it said something about system error event movement and a msg from SE saying they were aware of the problem, so I figured once the 2 minute load is over I'll wait until issue is fixed before trying again since I now know it's an issue. Problem is the load isn't stopping this time. I've been in loading for over 10 minutes.

Is it safe to quit game via the xmb while stuck in loading screen for instance?

Does anyone know? I don't want to wait on load screen all day. Guess I have no choice but to quit game via xmb, which I thought I read somehwere by SE that you can lose data doing it this way.

Same with me when doing level 20 Pugilist quest. System error moving what whatever else.
