No Streaming: A bad decision by SQE

Am I the only one that thinks the whole "no streaming during early access / open beta" is actually doing more harm than good to the game? I feel like streaming is a huge way of advertising for your game, and this decision to constantly keep streamers out of FFXIV is illustrating Square Enix's lack of understanding in this area.

Considering the almost complete lack of advertising in North America, I'd at least hope something like streaming would be allowed to get word out for the game. I'd understand if the game was awful, but it isn't. I guarantee it would be building a lot of hype on streamer channels if it was allowed, so it's really sad to see that it won't even have the chance. Just my two cents.

You can stream on release day and from where Im standing this game is doing pretty damn good in North America its on almost every retailer top selling list and hottest selling list.

lol it will be stream on 27th why cant you wait for 3 days.. im also itchy to stream but i can wait for another 3 days.

I don't see any particular advertising value in random streams. Their only purpose seems to be for vanity.

Most streamers tend to be game jumpers or mmo tourists who bounce around from game to game to game.

Streaming would add publicity but I can see why SE isn't allowing it yet.

It will be allowed. On Tuesday.

I can't imagine there are people out there who are not going to buy the game just because it wasn't streamed Saturday and Sunday.

I agree more advertising would be nice, but my feeling is that the game is going to be extremely successful - more than anticipated.

I think it was a wise decision and I would not worry about popularity from the results i have seen...150,000 for the live Beta is hardly an indication of low notice.

If there are going to be queues and closed servers during EA, we don't need more people until SE expands their server capacities and opens new servers.

From what I read on other forums, my understanding is that you can record still. However, you cannot post the videos until release date.
