Can we have a Roleplay character-icon?
As a long time MMO player, I am familiar with the Western love of roleplaying. Of course this comes with extra stored info on the server. It's a matter of working out how this is possible?
Can Monk's get the option of fighting bare-handed?
This gets talked about a bit. Maybe we could do something with a "tattoo" weapon. Will see if we can make this happen.
DirectX 11 - when?
Necessary coding is finished. Currently in final optimisation, working with graphics chip people to get this right. Want to be able to show a direct comparison between 9 & 11 by end of year. Exact date not set, but soon.
Can we set the UI to show TP instead of MP? It would help bards.
On design, didn't want the UI to be too confusing for new players, but we now realise that most players are very used to the system and this is an issue, notably for bards. We need to try and solve this, but without increasing UI complexity.
Anything on the roadmap to discontinue support for PS3?
Everything including Heavensward is PS3-compatible. We may re-assess in the future when contemplating 4.0 and beyond - haven't got that far yet. Indeed, it's an aged system, and Heavensward, such as flying mounts and Alliance-raids, was built with this in mind.
Flying text - improved configuration such as display on/off for specific parts?
Wasn't expecting that question - I know what you mean. A tricky thing to fix. Understand as a user, but as a developer it's cringe-worthy because it could be bugs galore. Yeah... will chat to the UI folks. Workload just went up.
Job opportunities! Where could we start?
...visit our recruitment page... A lot of projects are hiring and assume you mean XIV, where we're looking for a lot of different jobs. To be a level designed you have to like the game you're working on, and like a lot of different types of games, and know the existing levels backwards. Surprisingly, we put little emphasis on past experience in the game industry and more on your passion for the game and how much you care about the project. Take that passion, send in your resume and go for it, you've got nothing to lose. For programers, that would be more difficult. Localisation also has a large national diversity.
Grand company & PvP rankings - will these be reflected in game?
Kinda difficult. For PS3/4 things have to go through the Sony servers. These ranking systems don't, making the whole thing complicated. Of course, FFXIV is a study in overcoming challenges.
Where is that Spriggan hat that the lalafell wore in Hatchingtide artwork? I've been treasure-hunting for it for a long time. Is it in-game?

You always get a weapon at the end of a raid. Is there a way to make sure you always aren't getting the same item? 9 mnk fists in a row...
Similar question in LA. While not for 2.x, we talked about a token system, which could mitigate this.
In future, could there be a 4-man mode for Coil?
That would be possible, but not in our plans right now.
It would put a lot of pressure on those 4 people, of course there are merits to 4-man activities. Of course, the difficulty is a trait of the raid, including the difficulty of gathering and coordinating a full party.
We may also have to adjust rewards, but it's a good idea.
Limit breaks and bards - why the healer version? Can it change?
Maybe not until Heavensward, but there might be something new around then... I shouldn't have said that. We understand that bards are sticking out, not coupled with something that they do.
Back when designing all jobs, our plan was to have bard as the back-up plan if a healer went down. BUT that isn't what ended up happening in practice, so we're currently in talks to look at how LBs can be more class-specific.
What do the stats actually do specifically? I have 512 crit but no idea what that actually means practically. Parry, Skill Speed, etc.

There aren't a lot of games out there that just give you the algorythms. And with Heavensward's level cap increase there would be calibration to these. So talking about the specifics here could be counterproductive. On the net you'll find players that have sorted out the equations - this may be an old way of thinking, but it's one of the fun things about an MMORPG.
Would you consider running a design competition?
We did this for the ring design contest, which was fun, so we're thinking of doing this again. Design constraints can be awkward, but people could work around this. Rings were simple, so there were fewer constraints, and we may have to have disclaimers about SE making changes as needed.
Difficulty on getting Chocobo to rank 20 - can we have a commensurate reward, like a chocobo Limit Break?
Only a handful of people have their chocobo at rank 20.
