New Tools

So I was on FFXIV DB and saw a bunch of these tools that are the equivalent of the illuminati tools (luminary, but lets be honest "Rod of the Illuminati" is a lot more fun haha)

Was wondering if anyone knows what's the deal with these things?

You acquire them via achievements. Some of the best main hand crafter items in game. Plus they are gold! Need I really say more?


Sigh I misread your post. In hindsight being level 50 you shoulda known what I said already.

I remember hearing their was crafted versions as well that would be difficult to make but I can't recall the source so assume I'm making it up.

When I make tools, I make them in mass so I can sell them cheap on the Market.

Sadly I didn't get far enough to unlock the Market because my ACN hit 20 so fast! I think all of us should put stuff like this for fair prices on the Market to help out the noobs coming in.

I was selling good Weaving Needles for 80-100 gil outside of the Weaver's Guild. We as GSM should all do this! I've seen some crazy cheap stuff on Market for no less than 450 Gil -_-''

Yeah, i know about the achievement based ones, really glad they're carrying over achievement progress

And thanks for the info on crafted tools... we'll see how hard they are to obtain

They're all obtainable from the guild's level 50 quest. To me it's completely undeserved to get the best tool in the game from a quest that asks you to create an easy item. ~_~

Wow... yeah that's a little easy. Thanks for the info I'll have to start making my way through em. Good to know before I started HQing old ones

For the LTW one, you get an updated synthing table its pretty amazing.


I'm assuming its the same for the others.

Actually they are just as strong as luminary tools, but don't take as long to get. I got mine for armorer, is nice.

Oh yea, they look tons better . Luminary tools are just big ugly gold things, but these lvl50 quest tools have design to them.
