    Do I need the cd Key of my original Final fantasy XIV to get ARR for free?

    I have it activated on my Square enix account (Final fantasy xiv 1.0 that is) from September last year, will I need the key again to register for ARR?

    I've lost the key .-.

    That information has not been released yet... which is kind of actually quite interesting.

    I believe that most likely as long as your email is active then you'll get a new code in an email. Everything else should be tied to your account, so dont worry about any items or other such in-game things.

    All you need is your account if you can log in to the beta forums. Then you can download the final client which is the same for open beta this 16. So there no worry you don't need the code you just need your account to be allow to download.
