Edit: oh and I got the user/pass message too. Reading it, it sounded like a request to close the thread was being sent somehow, but of course us normal users don't have the credentials to do so. Wonder what's causing that behavior...

I thought it might be because of the fact that I'm at school, but I guess not.

I think it might have something to do with the image Hvinire tried to use.

It's definitely the image, whatever it is. I tried to pull up the image in a separate tab and got the same request for a username and password.

I know confirmation has been a long time coming on this one, and we're glad to finally detail how this will work! When you log into A Realm Reborn for the first time with your old character (specifically after phase 4), you will have the ability to redo any aspect of your character -- one time only. This includes the ability to change your name.

Last I heard the change of appearance won't be available until some time after launch, but now I'm not sure =$

Not sure where you heard that, but yes, like he said, when you log in (after Phase 4) you'll be able to re-customize your existing character and change your name!
