    I did like how D&D did dragons, with Chromatic/Metallic and Evil/Good.

    because no matter how awesome their dragons look, western characters have faces that look like wrinkly, hemorrhoidal butts. with dirty straw for hair. (i'm looking at you, skyrim and AC)

    I hate Skyrim, cause the character appearances makes my eyes bleed; it's the same with the majority of western games.

    I love western dragon style though. But i guess it's a matter of context, and design; Some western dragons look weird, and some eastern look cool.

    I like the D&D Dragons

    Eastern makes for a better sidekick, though.

    Not necessarily.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:

    I tend to prefer eastern (mainly Chinese) ones, but I do like the western ones as well, just not the hollywood movie versions

    I adore dragons more than any mystical creature anyways and I really really love Western dragons but I think I prefer Eastern dragons a tiny bit more. I like the fact that they are "snakelike" because it lets them appear so graceful when they move and fly. It doesn't make them look like brute monsters but somehow like mighty royal, spiritual creatures (of course Western dragons can look like this, too, but very often they are depicted as beasts).

    Haku from Spirited Away is the perfect example to me.

    Haku from Spirited Away was definitely one awesome looking Eastern Dragon, and one of the few times I was actually impressed with an Eastern Dragon's design. I really love all dragons. I have somewhat of a dragon fetish (collect stone dragons for my room, play Spyro a lot, read a lot of books about dragons, btw that black dragon that Keith_Dragoon posted on page 1 is in one of the books I own). But if I had a gun to my head and absolutely HAD to state my preference between the two designs, I'd pick western.

    They're usually bigger, much more beautiful, a lot more whimsical and intimidating. Oftentimes Eastern dragons look almost harmless; like big snakes that have developed tiny legs and mustaches. lol Western dragons look like they'll rip you to pieces and devour you just to find out how it would feel to crap you out later.

    Personally, there is nothing more epic, then tanking a huge (western) dragon in an mmo. The eastern dragons just look frail and serpent like. But standing toe to toe with a huge, powerful winged monstrosity.. weeeee
