    A Little Pain with my Pleasure

    This may have been discussed recently; I have not found a post lately though. Why not bring back the loss of experience with death. I know it was not a popular attribute to FFXI. It did do some interesting things to game play. People did not tolerate people not performing in parties. People would help you get better. Also that lovely delving sound. I know it hurt to loose experience. I would rather loose experience than paying to fix my gear. It also set FF apart from other games as I do not know of another that had the loss of exp. It is just one of those things I look back on and miss.

    at least write "EXP LOSS PENALTY" in the title so pleople don't click because they hope for an interesting topic.

    Seriously, this topic has been discussed to death on these forums. I don't see ridiculous and overly-punative death penalties such as exp loss, exp debt, deleveling, corpse-robbing, etc making it into this game. They are best left to a by-gone era.

    Everquest had exp loss and deleveling. I think Final Fantasy Tactics did also./thread.

    While I wouldn't mind the feature, people will demand that you're "destroying fun" or a masochist. The mere presence of a Nintendo haunts their nightmares.

    I'd prefer enforced perma-death. Though I'll offer the generous suggestion that your following character has access to the dead one's retainers and armoire.

    XP loss is a good second option. Don't know how it would work for DoH.

    It'd promote skilful playing, I reckons. Get the adrenaline rushing!

    FFXIV player since 1.0 alpha, and still pretty terrible at this game. Thank the Twelve it's not actually hard like FFXI.

    Xp loss upon death is fine with me. Deleveling, on the other hand, is not.

    If you were 1500/10000 at level, say, 10 and you died a few times, you would lose a certain amount of xp until you hit 0/10000 but never drop to a lower level. I think thats a good compromise.
