[YouTube] What's new in... Final Fantasy XIV: ARR?

Hey guys,

I've had some time to waste lately, so I decided to make a little series of videos, named "What's new in...", that quickly sums up the changes, between v1 and ARR, of which someone who left the game in September 2010 should be aware to have a better picture of what is coming up in A Realm Reborn. One thing, I'm talking in French with English subtitles.

I wanted to share it with you guys here. Feel free to comment, I'd be glad to know what you think about it.

Well made! It's very succinct and very informative for non-players. If you have time, you should make a series with this first video being a general intro, then focus on different aspects in each new video.

An idea: If you are trying to convert former players especially, I would also be sure to emphasis past problems that are now fixed (and how). For example, you mentioned very quickly that all the zones are new. I would go into how ver 1 had huge zones which while nice in some ways, forced the whole copy-pasta problem and how ARR will break them into many zones, resulting in much more variety. You can show these maps with some alpha footage of zoning between parts of Gridania, etc.

Nice video, Nice sig! Behemoth is my fav monsters in all ff's, I need to learn how you made that XD I wont copy it exactly but would love to have behemoth in my sig back round.

Being one of the players that only sort of kept up with what the actual changes were from 1.0 to ARR this was great information. I always wished that someone at SE would have just published a nice document with everything that was going to be changed with the release of ARR. I've read all the road maps and the update notes but I guess I still missed some information because I learned some stuff from your video. Thanks

Well, I've already done two others videos (the link of the OP normally redirects you to the playlist), about the quests and technical evolution of the game, with much more details, but I haven't translated them yet. This one being an intro to a series of 8 videos, just like you suggest it. I guess I'll keep trying to translate into proper English, since the first feedbacks are positive

Ahah, thanks, the pic has been extracted from the trailer "A new Beginning". I just used GIMP to round the edges, and XIVPads basically did the rest. :P

That and the new ability for the game to show a much larger amount of players and NPCs in one area due to the new engine and segmentation of the map.
