    I was relieved to read the "ps" part because I agree with you (and even gave your post another Like).

    As much as I like exploration, I was fine with being able to teleport everywhere in 1.0. It was a great convenience, yet it didn't take away from my ability to explore and go off the beaten path when I wanted to.

    or, instead of trying to slow down the game for everyone; you can take your time to go wherever you wanna go, without transportation, by yourself...
    And you cant transport anywhere anyways; Just quest hubs.
    Havn't played XI, but it seems VASTLY larger than XIV; so either way, any zone isn't far away enough to feel any accomplishment of finding it.

    Most of the people here will probably know my stance but:

    Hate every zone instant teleporting - that is just calling for world size death.

    I'm not looking 30 min travel times, but I do think that a reasonable 2-10 min transportation time is needed in most areas.

    Make ----some----- instant transport options like home pointing but then also make many awesome natural transportations like train, caravan, airship, shoopuf, boats and rafts, and much more - we've seen SE very unique transpotation ideas in the past.. they should flourish and network the world so its sized and scaled but yet not frustrating to travel upon.

    World instant teleporting reeks to me as a dungeon runner, which is no t the feeling I want from an mmoRPG I hope to call second*home.

    *Dont forget your first 'irl' homes guys :P

    people make it sound more like every area in the game is larger than all areas in XIV combined. like it takes an hour to run though some desert. while you could run from Gridania to harbour in Thanalaan in 10-15min.

    maps in ffxi are not that large in absolute sense. But they have many structural obstacles who force you to take an insane deviation. Like all the npc-escort doors in sea, all the switch door in tu'lia (which some even couldn't open alone), or filled of aggressive incredibily tough monsters who trasform a map in a mine field.
    Or both of these. Fucking uleguerand range, full of underground tunnels and mynotaurs IT+ <_<

    Give players an incentive to not use Aethertye points, perhaps allow you to customise your chocobo stats depending on how much you use it to travel round the land..Allow unlocks for distance travelled that will give you say an alternative armour skin or something..just an idea.

    I just want to make it clear im asking for one area (maybe like 3 - 5 zones) without insta teleport. Not the entire game. The problem with insta-teleport is that it makes every area feel easy to get to. For example, Mor Dhona was supposed to feel like this desolate area far away from any of the cities, but it just felt like another area.

    I want at least a few areas that -actually- feel like they are "out of the way" or "distanced" from a city. Making it hard to get to or annoying to reach is -the point-. So that when people actually go there or get there it feels like they went on an adventure to get there, instead of clicking a button. And so that it never feels like "yeah i can just click a button to get there"

    I don't want the entire game to be like that. Just one part.

    The many fruitless attempts at getting to that god-forsaken zone I made would like to really, really, REALLY disagree with you. For one i'm really, really happy I could just use my anima to get there afterwards because to hell with walking there ever again

    they should give you a central warp every other zone kinda like the crags in FFXI. warping to each little place on the map is dumb.

    boats, airships and the train i think there adding should be the only way to get to far places on the planet. other wise no point in haveing them.
