Not really. The only requirement is that he has an active SE Account at the time of selection. He will be prioritized using the criteria previously posted. That letter appears to be basically the same form letter they have used in the past for other games. Quite generic IMO.Apologies in advance if this was already asked:
A friend of mine (completely new to XIV, never picked up 1.0), applied for PC beta, but clicked "Apply" instead of "Apply & Survey". In the email it says "selection will be based on the questions answered".
Is he screwed because he didn't do the survey? :S
How will PS3 peeps test the game? how will it get to their hands? PSN download?
Well I know this isn't an official answer for you. But typically how PS3 beta's work is SE releases a code that you enter onto your PSN account. Then you download the game from PSN. It's the only way to get stuff onto your PS3.
Well it's not the ONLY way, but it's the easiest and professional way.
Theoritically you could download on PC and transfer to PS3 by external USB drive. But I believe Sony has setup the PS3 so it will not run any programs from the HDD unless it is from PSN. Unless it is on a disc, or console is modded somehow.
So PSN download would be the only way.
And it's possible for you to download a small piece of torrent program from the PSN store then use it to download the full game (basically getting content from SE servers would not cost them a penny.)
Ah, good point Zehira, that is how pretty much all MMO's are installed these days. Download launcher and the launcher does all the downloading and installing! That is how I remember Free Realms installed now that I think about it.
*looks sheepish* yeah I tried it and got immediately bored. An MMO on the PS3 intrigued me, so sue me! lol
Do legacy members have access to all phases of the beta after the first?
It says "Starting from Phase One" and has no wording indicating that it's exclusively Phase One. It is my understanding that anyone who makes the beta stays until the end, and they simply keep adding players as the phases commence.
So yes. Since we get Phase One, we get the whole beta.
So no response from devs on he fact that we have already used the code for asuran armbands? we have been abandoned!!!

For those of you that have registered your FFXIII (PS3) Members code to your Members account and forgotten it... well, you're in luck. The NA Square Enix Members team has been working on a solution to just such a problem!
The Members team has created a thread to request your previously registered code and all you need to do is post in the thread and the team will search the database with your account name and send you your code via direct message on the forum.
Visit the thread and post on the SE members forum!
Please note that this is for NA Members users as the EU code and beta registration flow is slightly different.
