So, April(ish) looks to be when we'll get back in with our own characters and when Thanalan and La Noscea open up. And that's if we stay on schedule.

That's at the minimum. So 8-18 weeks So we're looking at PS3 Beta around march to april, and the Beta will end April to June. Based on How well the game runs and feedback and tweaking. Plus the time after it's all ready. Soo... I'm guessing maybe July, August? Heck they might even have the same release date as the 1.0 lol September 22nd for early Pre orders and sept 30th for the normal ones. =P

We still have a long time until the game is out and we can play again.

Oh well, I saw this coming. I guess ill be playing ffxi longer :P

Nope. She's referrring to phase 3 (characters from 1.0 available and Ul'dah/limsa leveling path available), which will be between 5 and 11 weeks, meaning between late March and late May.

ok so from what i read, all legacy account holders will have a spot in beta, its no longer eligible but qualify. also they setting up 10 worlds for beta. so it makes sense that this time, its going down in feb. lol or am i just delusional.

Wow so we're looking at a June launch? I definitely hate that I was right about the 6 months of downtime, but it's definitely needed to ensure the quality of this game.

yeah i see june to be about the right time to relaunch the game also. considering its a fair amount of time for SE to test and fix,etc etc. plus what a better way to release a game not too long after E3.

Lol, you really need to quit it. Your view on this is becoming worse than those trolls who magically claim to already know launch dates through some secret grapevine.. Based on the roadmap, and the history of XIV's updates throughout 1.0, launch isn't likely till July. Sure, if you want to be completly naive and go against what has happened with every update thus far, wishing on a star for the earliest possible launch given on a roadmap (which I'm not sure if has EVER happened for ANY MMO in development..) then so be it. Just don't expect other people to hop on that bandwagon, and do expect to called out on it over... and over..

Though, for the sake of argument, I guess it could be argued that if Phase 4 technically becomes the "headstart" as suggested, that opens up a chance for a much earlier "launch". Still, turn down the fanboi some, and turn up reality.

Free company points - looks like they are adapting a kind of skill tree for the FC system. That with housing bonuses - seems really cool hope it helps build the tight communities.
