Aye it does kind of suck.

I wish the NA branch of SE would start doing the occasional contest for the Americas even if there wasn't any real prizes involved. You would think they would be doing them for all their larger playerbases every so often for some extra publicity, but I haven't really seen any contests from other branches besides EU that wasn't a global contest. Especially when I know there are tons of folks that would jump on this contest in an instant.

We used to get Fan Festivals that featured arts, crafts, and cosplay contests! I remember Bayohne doin' the play-by-play commentary of the Atomos Challenge back in 2007. That was an awesome weekend. I really miss those festivals.

I know there are, but it seems they didnt even check if there are. They just allowed the 4 countries where they have studios and ignored the rest. This is a mega fail every other publisher is able to make contests for almost every country....

SE is a company, in order to remain a company in a country they have to check. They know better than you do unless you happen to run a multi-billion dollar company in multiple nations?

A grand prize to Japan and tour of the offices....thats a pretty big prize, the biggest one yet o.o I wonder if they make you dress up for the tour of the offices...cause they should.

Depending on the cosplay, that may not be the best idea...

And the whole time I watched this, I was humming this to myself. It still makes me laugh when I think about it today.

Though it ruined the song for me, much in the same way my friend ruined the Steve Perry song "Oh Sherrie" by singing, "Oh Larry."

Maybe because the main price is a fly ticket. Maybe it has something to do with insurance policies. Or maybe they need first to travel to a SE branch office with own money and then someone from SE travel with them.
