FINAL FANTASY XIV (“Game”) Memories of Eorzea (“Contest”)

The Contest is only open to existing holders of an active FINAL FANTASY XIV service account (“Service Account”) on 31 October, 2012 10:00am (GMT), who are resident in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. Contestants who are residents of France or Spain should refer to the Additional Specific Provisions under these Rules relevant to their country of residence.

PLEASE READ THESE RULES (“Rules”) CAREFULLY. By submitting an entry to the Contest you agree to accept and be bound by these Rules and the terms of any policies referred to in these Rules. We reserve the right to cancel or amend the Contest at any stage if deemed necessary in our opinion and/or if circumstances arise which are outside of our control.

Entry Requirements
Contestants must possess an active Service Account and have access to a working internet connection and web browser in order to be able to enter. Contestants are responsible for all connection charges associated with the internet connection and subscription fees associated with the registration for a FINAL FANTASY XIV service account. Contestants must ensure that their contact information is correct at the time of registration for a Service Account, during and after submission of their Entry.

Contestants must accept our privacy policy and cookies policy located here . Contestants must have a permanent residence in France, Germany, Spain or the United Kingdom. Contestants under the age of 18 must obtain the permission of a legal guardian before submitting entries. The Contest is not open to employees, directors or other officers of Square Enix Europe or its respective affiliates, agents, media partners and suppliers.


Entry Method
Please reply directly to the entry thread and include your screenshot. One screenshot is allowed per person. Should an entry include more than one screenshot, only the first will be accepted. Please include a comment or story describing the screenshot.*

*Please refrain from submitting pictures featuring only scenery or NPCs and all entries must include the entrant’s character in the picture.


Accepted Entry Format
Picture Resolution: 1024 × 692 pixels*

* A picture may not be accepted if its resolution or aspect ratio deviates greatly from that prescribed

How to Post an Image

1. Upload your Screenshot to your Lodestone blog or other image hosting website. For uploading images to Lodestone, please refer to the instructions listed here to learn about the upload process.

2. Copy the URL for the uploaded picture. This can be done by opening your image of choice in your Image List and then right-clicking and selecting "Copy Image Location." This process may differ depending on the browser you are using.

3. Finally, when posting on the forum, use the [IMG] tag and place the URL between them:

Entry Period

* Unfortunately, due to some technical difficulties that took place on the Lodestone on Sunday, November 11th, there were some players that were unable to submit their entries for the Memories of Eorzea Contest. Due to this, we are extending the deadline to November 14, 2012 07:59am (GMT).


Prize
We will be awarding FIVE winners from the eligibile EU territories with the below FINAL FANTASY XIV merchandise each (the “Prize”):

ONE FINAL FANTASY XIV A Realm Reborn print autographed by Yoshi-P*

No cash alternative shall be provided in place of the Prize.


Winner Selection
Entries will be judged on the ‘most memorable memories in Eorzea’ by the Community Team.

Winners will be announced on the forum on November 22, 2012 (“Announcement Date”). Once the winners are announced, a member of our Operations Team will contact the winners and ask for their mail address and/or shipping information in order to distribute the Prizes.

A Winner who has not been contacted within two weeks of the Announcement Date by a member of the Operations Team should email: info@square-enix.com. Failure to contact a member of the Operations Team within four weeks of the Announcement Date will result in the Prize being forfeited by the Winner.

We reserve the right to re-distribute any unclaimed Prizes.


Inappropriate Submissions
Entries containing obscenity, vulgarity, discrimination, or any other offensive subject matter and/or containing any plagiarized or copyrighted material will not be considered by the judges. Entries which infringe upon copyright/intellectual property, personal credit, privacy, are counter to public order and/or morals, are judged to be grossly deviant from the established theme, do not contain all of the required information or contain erroneous information may face disqualification.

Additional Specific Provisions

Contestants resident in FRANCE:

The name of the winner will be sent to anyone who requests the same within three (3) months of the Closing Date and by entering the Competition you hereby agree that the Promoter shall be permitted to do so if you are the winner. Requests should be sent to: info@square-enix.com


LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW SQUARE ENIX EUROPE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ENTRY THAT IS SUBMITTED TO THE CONTEST THAT INFRINGES THE COPYRIGHT OR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OF A THIRD PARTY. YOU WARRANT AND AGREE THAT YOUR ENTRY WILL CONTAIN WORK THAT IS ENTIRELY ORIGINAL TO YOU AND DOES NOT INFRINGE OR INTERFERE WITH ANY THIRD PARTY COPYRIGHT OR OTHER RIGHTS AND YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY SQUARE ENIX EUROPE AGAINST ANY LOSS ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF YOUR WARRANTY.

In the event that an entry violates a third-party’s copyright, the user’s Service Account may be suspended or cancelled. All entries and other materials (the "Entry Materials") (including all copyright, trademark, and other proprietary rights associated therewith) submitted by you become the property of Square Enix Europe upon submission, and Entry Materials will not be returned to any contestant. In consideration of our acceptance and review of your Entry Materials into the Contest, you hereby assign to Square Enix Europe absolutely all right, title and interest for the full duration of copyright in and to the Entry Materials throughout the world. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you acknowledge that Square Enix Europe will own all rights to use, modify, and make derivative works of the Entry Materials, without separate compensation to you or any other person or entity.
