Coeurl's didn't originate from the Final Fantasy series. Google it, bro.
I really wish Age would make something new. Considering that some of the big players in TerraLunar/GetsumenKichimae joined Age, I figured they would have come up with something different instead of yet another re-release of Kimi ga nozomu eien and yet another Muv Luv game. >.>

* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
May have wanted to google it yourself, "bro". Van Vogt's coeurls are black and have either a hand or a suction thingie at the end of their tentacles. The one in that picture has pointy tentacles, and only Final Fantasy has that kind of design for them.
Next time, I advise doing some research before coming out this aggressively on something you don't know
@Rau: It's not bad at all.

It's a show about aliens eating people alive and giant mechs. There are zero fantasy elements in it. Why would you assume it's referencing something completely unrelated to it and not Van Vogt? Not to mention, what do you think Final Fantasy Coeurls were based off?
It's a JAPANESE show, why would you assume it's referencing a canadian author and not one of the most famous JAPANESE video game series of all times, that is quite a lot more embedded in their pop culture than Van Vogt could ever be?
Why do I assume it? Lessee.. because The Coeurl portrayed looks nothing like Van Vogt's coeurls, and exactly like Final Fantasy's coeurls, that are quite different?
I would say that's a pretty sound reason.
Van Vogt's coeurls:

Besides the fact that pop culture is normally much more important in homages than genre, you very conveniently forgot the other part, I see. If they wanted to homage van vogt, why exactly didn't they portray Van Vogt's Coeurls (that have a very specific appearence that looks nothing like the one represented on that truck); but portrayed a Final Fantasy coeurl?
Oh I'm so eager to read how you justify that. Do try please.
Oh. By the way. Aside from the traits I already described, no representation of Van Vogt's Coeurls (nor his descriptions) has a puffy tail like the one you see on the truck. Guess which ones DO have a puffy tail?
