Ok so this video is out, and it looks amazing. My question is, are we going to be able to change the way our current characters look when ARR launches? Theres a bunch of new customisations now that werent there when some of us made these characters. Myself for example, created mine the day of live release back in 2010.

Everyone gets a 1 time chance to change their character.

Still dont know if we can apply these new options to existing characters yet :/. Only way to get that might be to re-create your character(Unreasonable in the extreme for most).

I'm assuming that the reason why there are no new faces/hairstyles is because it's only Alpha version but I do hope there are new additions.

This has me thinking that perhaps they could give achievements more of a cosmetic achievement by unlocking new hairstyles/marks and such. The only issue would be with face models since it would be odd to change those but it would be an interesting concept if perhaps defeating certain strong enemies or unlocking certain achievements added on to character customization. In which one could remodel their character aka haircut and other things with certain NPCs for a gil price, so it could also provide a gil sink.

What is with those face tatoos @9:17. Are those the Dalamud surivivor marks?

It looks like that's a possibility, though I do wonder if it's perhaps something we'll be able to hide at will, since while it is a cool idea, I wouldnt' want my character to be sporting that 24/7 lol. It would be nice if perhaps we have the option to hide/show it.

I believe it's already been noted that all chars will be able to change their design and race because some option might not be available from the original, so they will be allowing everyone a chance to remake their character models and such.

Why would you not be able to use the new customization when you can recustomize? Why would they lock of selections to you? makes no sense.

This has been known for months now. They had it in interviews since about e3 2012 =) So hope that makes you happy!

I think they said they "WILL" allow gender changes, what I want to know is if you "DO" change your gender, will gender specific items in your inventory change? For example will a "Lady's" Yukata in your inventory, change to a "Lord's" Yukata.
