As requested by Baccanale in the post http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...h-text-command

Does it echo the macro line to the log for you, or do nothing?

What happens if you type '/eaction 3 "Pierce"' manually?

And just to be sure, you've cleared all your actions first and have plenty of AP free?

It doesn't echo the macro to the log.

If I type it manually nothing happens. (no echo)

And yes have tried it with cleared action bar and have enough AP also.

    Greetings again, Jinko!
Thank you for your patience with the wait for a response regarding your concerns with using Pierce with a macro. It seems that the development team would like to see if you continue to have trouble if you use the same command prompt without using the quotation marks around the word "Pierce." (/eaction 3 Pierce) If you continue to have trouble with the command, please post on this thread, and I will make sure to let them know, so that they may be able to continue with their inspection. Thanks again for your patience!

Since this still hasn't been fixed yet...

It's not an issue of spelling the ability correctly. Normally an ability that doesn't exist or is not spelled correctly simply returns a line in the log of what you just typed, like an /echo. For example, typing "/eaction 4 Skateboarding" results in the same appearing in the log.

As a Rank 19 Thaumaturge with Rank 13 Conjury:

    /eaction 4 Curee - "/eaction 4 Curee" and Cure is not assigned.
/eaction 4 Cure - "Cure set." and Cure appears in slot 4.
/eaction 4 "Cure" - "Cure set." and Cure appears in slot 4.
/eaction 4 "Cure II" - "You have not yet acquired that action." and Cure II is not assigned.

    With 0/27 points:
/eaction 4 Cure - "Cure set." and Cure appears in slot 4.
    With 27/27 points:
/eaction 4 Cure - "Setting this action will exceed your available points." and Cure is not assigned.

None of the following actions return any message to the log indicative of an error:
    /eaction 4 Pierce
    /equipaction 4 Pierce
    /eaction 4 "Pierce"
    /equipaction 4 "Pierce"
    /eaction 4 (Pierce) (using auto-translate)
    /equipaction 4 (Pierce) (using auto-translate)

So, it's fairly clear that the parser is recognizing it as a valid action, rather than returning the command text back indicating that the ability isn't recognized.

I noticed back in beta when trying to equip Pierce from a macro it would set it up but the graphic icon would be a red X. When you try to perform the move the game would crash. Maybe it still has to do with the same bug as way back then.
