    Operation: Deepground

My static is having some problem with this faction.
There should be a trick to skip 1 wave of mobs by talking to the NPC at 8.30 or so, we tryed many times from 8.30 to 7.30 but we can't seem to do it.
How exactly does this work? It depends on the time the wave die or what?

Also another problem we have is waves popping with hate on mages and tank not able to get them all of them asap, any suggestion on this?

    Thx a lot

Afraid I haven't had the pleasure of doing Deepground yet, if it was an exploit/glitch however they may have fixed it in a patch recently.

My suggestion is if at all possible look for trash mobs around the NPC and build up some TP before the first wave is summoned, then rush into the fray and Steel Cyclone everything or have a DRG Invigorate before the first wave and open with Leg Sweep to at least give you all a few seconds with it's stun effect. It might not grant you hate for long but it should give you at least the initial hate you need to save your WHM's. Just make sure to save some TP for future and oncoming waves as well.

I dunno about any timing mechanics but I can give you a run down of how to complete it if you move quickly.

    Holy method
    Setup: WAR WHMx3 to start.
WHM should where AMP/macc gear and buff with cleric stance.

    > Pop leve, war runs in and tries to generate 1000 tp to SC asap. All WHM follow behind and presence+holy on first group, then pop blissful mind for MP.
    > Next wave pops, war does same as first wave, so do whms. Pop shroud when all mobs dead, run out of tunnel quickly.
    > Get far enough back that third wave will not aggro. WHM all change to BLM (setup: WAR BLMx3).
    > When MP is full, BLM get into casting range of mobs (third wave+NMs are now up). Use resonance+firaga and run away, then use WAR to keep leashing the mobs while blm finish the regular kobolds off with fire as needed.
    > Once regular mobs all dead (need about 4-4:30+ on clock ideally), WAR continues to leash NMs while BLM all single target down Swordbearer with thunder, thundara.
    > As soon as swordbearer dies, run back again to deaggro all mobs. BLM change to WHM and two dps of your choice. We use DRG, MNK for stuns and good singls target damage. Once everyone has changed, take out matriarch. You will need about 1:30+ left on clock to do this.

    Some notes...
This take practice, especially the first two waves.
In order to make sure Holy will wipe out all mobs, WHM need strong gear sets aligned to increased damage.
Matriarch can dia/bio so have mages stand on one side of the tunnel mouth while WAR leashes them out towards the other side to avoid them getting hit with dots. If they do, it's over.
You can still do it if someone dies so long as you raise them up asap with expectorant/tonic.

    Good luck!

Can't skip the phase anymore, it was patched a while ago.

You can use the holy method listed above or swap in a blm or 2 and use flare/firaga when needed. You can also try to leesh but normally you run out of time here.

The key to all of this is your war will only be able to SC 2 of the groups, thus stunning them to make it easier on the mages. That group he doesn't stun tends to beat on a few mages plus SE has some weird agro mechanics here when the mobs spawn.

Overall though it is not too bad and just keep at it.

Thx for all the replays, we managed to beat it for both our wars using the WHMx3 > BLMx3 method.
After trying many many times with different setups this is byfar the best one or at least the less suscettible to random facts like spawning aggro or spawning point.
To make sure each wave was shotted by the Holys and Firaga we had each one use a Mega INT pot at turns one for each wave

1° pop: WAR runs full buffed and use Mighty Strike > Overpower (keep TP for second) and WHM do Holy x3
2° pop: WAR SC asap and WHM do another Holy x3 then switch immediatly to BLM and run out
3° pop: run far away and rest full MP, then go near and Excurciate > Resonance > Firaga (3 crit firaga are enough to 1shot them all)
Then do first boss with the BLMs from outside and change to DD setup for last boss, full party buff is nice here since last boss seems quite evasive without.
