    MMO's I have played: Everquest,FFXI,WoW,LOTRO,Aion,SWTOR,Maple Story,Megaten,PSO,PSU and DCUO.

For me personally, one of the most important things is the connection I have with the people I play with. I could have the easiest time playing the game, but if I'm playing a MMO by myself or if nobody is talking it just isn't fun usually. Usually if this occurs I tend to log off for very long periods of time and eventually quit.

Storyline is important to me, thus why I'm playing a Final Fantasy MMO. I would dislike the game greatly I think if most of the game was spent spamming random quests with little to no lore at all. I had to struggle just to finish Final Fantasy 12, because I felt that it had a very sub par storyline and I hope that isn't the case with ARR.

Gameplay mechanics are important to me too, but if the other two are below my standards of enjoyment they won't usually matter since I'm generally not playing the game anyway. The only way this usually is higher on my list is when the mechanics are so bad it makes it very hard to enjoy everything else. (Yes, I'm looking at you Xenosaga Episode 2.)
If you can't operate the controls and UI from it being extremely bad you can't see the story and play with your friends.

So... like, why are people stating what MMOs they have played exactly...?

To prove they are somehow more worldly than those that have only played 1 or 2 I guess. It makes em feel good.

    So from FFXI.
    Rappelz (Free to play)
    2Moons (Free to play)
Perfect World International (Free to play)
World of Warcraft (1 month free, 2 months paid)
Aion (1 month free, 1 month paid, free to play now)
Phantasy Star Online EP 1+2+4 Private Server (Free to play)
Phantasy Star Universe (1 month free)
Phantasy Star Online 2 (Currently Playing)
Fantasy Earth Zero (Free to play)
    Ragnarok Online (Private Server)
    RF Online (Free to play)
    Flyff (Free to play)
    Maplestory (Free to play)
    Mabinogi (Free to play)
    Nexus (Free to play)
    Tera (Closed Beta)
    Dragon Nest (Free to play)
    Vindictus (Currently playing)
    Spirit Tales (Currently playing)
Blade and Soul (Korean Beta Test)

Though, I have to admit that most of these games were really enjoyable, but I have stopped playing most of them due to the release of FFXIV, and I cannot find myself to download these games again other than the other two games I am currently playing. If i were to download any of them again, I would probably check out Perfect World.

I also have to include that a few of my friends have recommended Guild Wars and the upcoming Guild Wars 2. I would like to try GW2 but am flustered about the story, and if I should play GW before GW2. Everquest was also another recommendation but I can't find myself to play it. lol

I also do not play very many streamline games like Lord of the Rings Online, or Star Trek, or Star Wars. I've always disliked video games based on movies or books. Besides Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. That game is awesome xD

I probably wouldn't waste my time with GW1 the games are so different there really is no need to play the first one and it might just annoy you anyways.

It has nothing to do with responsiveness of the server, every online game should try to attain the fastest response time possible no matter the genre. The global standard of MMOs is spamfest, plain and simple. Your post is pointing out the broken features of the game which should be fixed, most aren't arguing that. The combat SYSTEM is not broken. It is tactical and enjoyable and can easily be improved upon with a more responsive server. If you are saying that you want FFXIV to change its combat system to the global standard then get the hell out of here. It would ruin the game in my opinion and I know I would leave without looking back.

I myself play WoW give it a few try's one was back when there was no dungeon finder i pay for the game but quit when my month was up and return to ffxi. I play it again few more times even when they redone the world i play for max of 2 month got around level 70 and got bored of it. I play Aion to level 30 play rift for some time but my lasting MMO is FFXI which is about 5-6years and 2# is FFXIV sense Beta 1.

don';t understand why we saying what game we play at the end SE trying to make the game as fun and make the UI good for all players which mean using WoW type layout which was use even in EQ i think FFXI is the only MMO that does not have a bar type UI that i know off.

Which nexus did you play did you play Nexus the Kingdom of Winds because that's only free to play up to level 20 after that you have to pay for it and you go up to lvl 99 in that game. other wise i've never heard of another game that called Nexus

And this game desperately NEEDS improvements if it is ever going survive as a viable, cash generating MMORPG on the modern PC market, because PC gamers are brutal about this, they are not a captive audience like a console player. You can't slap a 10 year old, laggy console UI on a modern PC MMORPG and expect it to do well.
May I correct your 2nd paragraph? what you said, but add : And this game desperately NEEDS improvements if it is ever going to BE A FUN TO PLAY MMORPG on the modern PC market, because PC gamers DEMAND this, they are not a captive audience like your console player. Slap a 10 year old laggy conolse UI on a modern PC MMORPG and expect it to fail.
