Rare Rewards for Solo Players

In A Realm Reborn we will be looking into offering rare items as rewards for content that can be challenged solo after the launch. This doesn’t necessarily mean they will be for guildleve rewards since they are repeatable, but for other types of solo content.

er... by "rare rewards" do you mean items with the "Rare" tag, or items that are very uncommon?

At any rate, if this means there will be "challenging content for solo play" then I like the sound of it.

What I want to know is hard work, solo skill and dedication will you be able to earn top end weapons and gear solo. In FFXI I pretty much solo any NM in abyssea for AF3 seals and +2 items. It's not as efficient as taking a group but at least something gets done and I can work toward what I want.

As for weapons in FFXI I was pretty much able to solo an Ochian and a Verethragna with very little help. Only had help on a couple of NMs but 95% of the work I did solo everything without dual boxing. As seen in my profile here http://www.ffxiah.com/player/Phoenix/Zumi

Also you can get any relic you want in FFXI solo by going to dynamis by yourself every day. Takes longer then going with a group but hey it gets done.

FFXIV is a different story no progress on anything can be made solo. I believe you need to offer a solo route for people who don't know a ton of people who play FFXIV. Sure I would love to get a relic in FFXIV but there is no shout groups and no solo option.

I feel like I am missing out on the majority of FFXIV's content because I don't really know 7 other people playing the game to do stuff with.

FFXI got it prefect Relic and Empyrean weapons can be done solo slowly or much faster with a group.

I got my Excalibur pre dynamis nerf. I did go with a dynamis LS however they made us buy the currency from them for a lower price, plus 75% of the currency I bought from outside sources. Then again that left like more of a solo effort then anything.

I always liked hunting NMs in 11. Goofing around, searching for a random mob with a rare drop.

Not saying that this content will be NMs, but it would make sense if some of it was.

You didn't need a party, you could just adventure around, take in the scenery and hope to see that rare glimpse of a mob with strange name.

If you saw it, you'd dash to it, even though you knew no-one else was around.

Then you'd get owned real quick as you hadn't checked its level.

Yeah, I know people would camp mobs, but there's ways round it if they're roaming bigger areas.
