    Welcome one, Welcome all?

is there any particular reason as to why all the merchant dialog has been striped and replaced with "Welcome one, Welcome all." or are you hoping that the player base doesn't notice.

I don't get it either, I actually enjoyed it how all of the merchant NPCs had different snippets of dialogue that showed us differing personalities.

"What business do you have at me Rudius? If you touch it, you bought it"

My only guess would be because mini map icons are not exactlly...accurate all the time, so once you talk to someone, you can tell its the merch from the dialog........

Best i can do on short notice...i'm not a fan of it either Needs more personality.

I remember a shopkeeper in Windurst in FFXI that was basically "if you're not here to buy something then get lost"
I loved that in that game and love it in this one too, imo I don't see any reason why they changed it.

It could be that they are reworking the dialogue of vendors for the end of the world (1.23a or b) and put this in as a placeholder, but I don't see why they went to the effort of changing the dialogue for this.

I hope the vendors will get lore based chat in 1.23a or b, something like "if you are going to face the cataclysm, my wares are second to none, please have a look" and we need a Chocolina style vendor, someone completely wacky and preferably wearing a chocobo outfit

Yeah, I hated the "Welcome one, welcome all!" on all the shop NPC's too. It really takes all the personality out of the NPC's, and it reeks of laziness.

Actually... this is the result of a bug that will be fixed in patch 1.23a!

Don't worry, your favorite merchant NPCs will soon be back to saying things like "Hey, I sure love buying your random items!" and "Wow, you again? Really, I don't want anymore of the stuff filling your bag..." and who can forget "Please... I can't afford to buy items from you anymore, I have a family..." and so on.

Haha! you say bug, I say ninja change :P.

Anywho, I am glad this will be reverted in 1.23a. I always thought you guys entered lazy mode by making all the vendors say that one line.

It would be awesome if NPC vendors start saying those last few things too
