    2nd wind modifier

I was wondering how 2nd wind works and what modifier (if any) they are for this. Does 2nd wind cure a set amount or is it percentage based? The reason I am asking is I am looking to upgrade my gear set.

I am thinking about double meld HP to waist and feet for a bit more survivability. I was wondering if this would have the added effect of increasing my 2nd wind (if it were percentage based). I know a lot of people are adding Crit, but I mainly do PUGs which can be unreliable and was thinking survivability may help me and WHM's. Any info or suggestions are appreciated.

    Current Set up

    Storm Sergeants Hooks
    Storm Tabard
    Explorers Belt
Felt Trousers (single Meld STR and Vit)
    Temple Boots
Raptorskin Gloves (double meld +36 STR)
    Temple Circlet
    Storm Sergeants Earrings
    Electrum Gorget
    Raptorskin Wristbands
    Rubelite Ring x2

    Proposed Changes
    Giantsgall Claws (double Meld INT)
-This would be a secondary weapon for when sanction is down to keep INT capped.
Peistskin Hunting Belt (HP double meld)
    Cobalt Caligae (HP double meld)
    Storm Sergeants Wrists

This would keep my INT and STR around the cap.

Second Wind is boosted by INT.

Thank You. So it is a set amount boosted by INT, correct?

The primary modifier for SW is class level.

There are three other factors that contribute to SW:
    - PGL's SW trait, which increases potency by 25%.
    - A bonus from INT (2INT=1HP)
    - An additional random integer

    Here's how I figure:

    Lv.50 WAR SW: 580HP
    +my base INT 252 (2INT=1HP): 706HP
    +difference with optimum 310 INT (310-252=58): 735HP
    +25% PGL trait: 918HP

So for MNKs at 310INT, Second Wind restores approximately 918HP.

No other class gets the bonus from INT, so SW will recover the same amount of HP on a WAR with 190INT as a BLM with 410INT as long as they are the same level.

Edit: Cleaned up the whole post so it doesn't look like scratch paper.
