Strange Tree in The Black Shroud

While doing our routine NM hunts, me and my LS happened upon a strange tree that "explodes" when you approach it. The weird thing is that from the front, it appears green, but if you swing your camera around as it explodes, it will be red.

Does anyone know what it does?

The 'exploding' effects in the video do make it look like the tree from the Grindania story mission. Although it's strange cause if it's the tree I'm thinking of it's an instanced area for the story mission. But it looks dang close to what happens in that mission.

look up ffxi glowing tree secrete revealed. Supposedly, dream toad pops from it. How unsure. But there are a few trees that do this. One is a tall thin tree one is a small but lush tree. People castsed near it ran off a bit and a massive toad poped from it, and the glowing stopped. Unless its part of the storyline, but in dec ppl was like WTF. Kinda reminded me of .hack tbh.

Some players have saw a few of them there more then one it seem to be a high level woodcutting tree maybe it be added above 50 rank. or something else who knows

ya i wondered the same thing when i came across it, although I wouldn't call it exploding, more energy eminating from it. Doesn't seem to do anything. As to the toad comment, never seen it happen when I go up there for my mining leves

And no, this one is a standard grade 5 tree, nothing special about it botany wise
