The trailer says nothing about time travel.

The trailer says that "we were sent beyond the reach of time where we remained until now" this is in no way insinuating that we are sent to the future. The trailer is stating that we are sent to a place where nothing happens, a dead zone or limbo if you will. The trailer also shows that he is standing in what looks like a battle field with no people and a hole tears open walking through it.

So what I believe happens is in a last ditch effort to protect the only people that can save the realm he send us to a place where time stands still until we can safely return to kick major ass.

    Discuss.

That's technically one concept of time traveling. You are taken out of time itself, and placed back into it at a future date.

Not to mention Cavernous Maws popping up in XIV's data. Time traveling is pretty much the plotpoint here. They handled the concept along with alternate dimensions well in XI, so they can do it again here as it makes that much more sense than going the route of using 'Echo' which would have been the biggest cop out in FF history.

It worked for DokiDoki Panic/Mario Bros 2..not for FF.

I am trying to get an answer on this as well. Where is everyone getting the idea that we are time traveling now!? I realize that the narration from the trailer says something about time but why? Why would we see screen shots with dialouge talking about rebuilding and such?

So Dalamud hits, yes. I would speculate that it is a controlled hit contained by Louis and a team of NPC's. Maybe contained the blast? So we see a city (Ul'dah) getting hit pretty hard from the cinematic. OK. The Dalamud area, where is that hitting? And what is the structure behind the Behemoth in the trailer? Someone mentioned an act from FF13 where with the Cocoon incident...That structure looks awfully similar, maybe Dalamud is frozen? And the destruction we are cleaning up is from the Meteor attack?

Just food for thought and completely just from my point of view. (Meaning of course, I can be wrong and understand it)

From what I remember it also said. "Where they remained untill now". From any examination of english that infers a transition of time.

TRANSITIONAL WORDS GO! *Not to mention that we pretty much "time travel" using the echo for small instances* But I guess the "Echo" isn't time traveling either..

Understood but could it be done? From the concept art (haven't checked again) isn't there an area with a large obstruction in the middle of it? Guessing the Behemoth area is that one. I just wonder if somehow Dalamud was stopped before it hit and crystallized.
