More Diverse Hair Options in 2.0

I'm an African-American player who has been playing FFXIV from the start and I've greatly enjoyed my time in Eorzea. Since we'll be able to redesign our characters once 2.0 comes, I wanted to make some tweeks to my Male Hyur Midlander. I really want to darken my skin tone, however whether or not I do so relies entirely on the hair options and the current options don't look as good for a black character, which is why I made my character to resemble the one I had in FFXI. I did some research and found a couple of pics of simple hair designs that I would like to see.

Short Hair
Mohawk

Fade

Curly

Longer Hair

Dreads

Braids

I know that Braids are already an option for a Hyur Midlander and Highlander, but, and this is just my opinion, they look very sucky, especially with that mini stub sticking out from the back. It's probrably why we don't see many people with that hair in the game. I think having the option to adjust braid length would be ideal as well.

These are just a few ideas that I believe would bring more diversity in terms of character creation and I personally feel that a lot of games that allow you to personalize you character fall short on the hair, especially when you want to make an ethnic specific character.

Feel free to post your thoughts and opinions on this. I also encourage that you post what kind of hair designs you would like to see in the game

All the short hair looks about the same to me.

I agree there does need to be a more diverse selection in 2.0.

I agree... Of course, there needs to be more than just more male black hairdos. There should be some cornrows for the ladies as well as some other things. But if there are afros, they really need to not get ridiculously cartoony like a lot of character creators look with fros. Modern fro's like Sahz had are acceptable... Not something 70's style funky. Personally I love that 14 offers the diversity it does, but I think black characters need things to let them look more appropriate. Right now, only Highlanders have any real traditional black styles other than shaved head.

Also, the game would really benefit from a lalafel version of Samuel L Jackson. Preferably voiced by him.

YES THIS!! I want hair as long as Tifa's: the original tifa! not the AC one D: or at least hip length. The fact that there is no diversity makes me sad ; ; Short female hair styles are OK..but can we have long ones too please, SE? It does not feel very final fantasyish with such short hair. Akahiko is designing this game, yes? Maybe you could give us some hairstyles from your pervious games like Princess Ovelia?
