Level all crafts and gathers at the same time so you can use the same gear on all of them. Store AF pieces in favor of materia melded stuff that's useful for multiple classes. Keep one weapon per class on you. Don't bother with off hand tools. I usually sit around 140 on retainers and 170 on myself.
