Asia server?

Hello,

I just joined FFXIV and, not knowing what server to choose, I joined the one my EU friend joined - Ragnarok
now I am in Japan and I feel there is not much people when I play (I sometimes wonder if I am online or not...)

Is there a better server for people in Asia region?
and also, do you think that when 2.0 will come out we will be able to change server? In that case I will stay where I am until they change

If you meant english speaking player at asia timezone, i think Masamune has big base for it.

If you do speak japanese, any server is fine.

Thanks. I am not sure what to do... I already started on Ragnarock and grinded/quested, I don't feel like starting again. But Ragnarok really looks empty, especially if it is indeed mostly Europe based, I will never party.... haha
Let's hope 2.0 comes soon so I can change server

Masamune is really like full of JP players or asians trust me lol
even at EU or NA times i can still see JP shouts

For the servers I am really torn. On one side I am in a server where my friend is and I already started questing/levelling and not really keen to start again, on the other side the server have less people and seems to be mostly European so as I am in Japan it might be hard to find parties...
not really sure what to do... they will move the servers around for 2.0 anyway no?

Everyone seems to say that we will get an opportunity to choose new servers once 2.0 launches.

Staying or moving is a tough decision! ... but a few things you might consider:

- Much of the higher level content requires full 8-person parties. The R45+ instanced dungeons still require 4 to 8 people. So even if your friend is there, if you cannot find other people online during your time then you may not be able to do the content.

- The higher level White Mage quests (or any other job quest) are also a bit difficult and it really helps to have more people in your party.

- Is your friend in the Japan time zone as well? Any chance you can start again together?

- Higher population servers (even if not in your time zone) have more active economies and market wards.


Do you speak Japanese?
If so, I think all the servers have a robust Japanese player base except for Ragnarok which was designated as the French/German server.

ya you only have like 1-2hours of work done when it come to leveling up anyways so better if you switch now
