    Character creation suggestions (for 2.0)

This may be a long shot, but I want to know what others think if SE put in a feature where we can determine a character's weight and age? Adding wrinkles the older they are, and adjusting mass the heavier or thinner they are?

And how about a skin and hair toner, based on RGBA channels, instead of just the presets? Maybe that one is coming.

    What ya'll think?

I think the problem with the mass idea is that it would be difficult to do from what I can see on how they do the armour, since all the armours are a preset sizes, so you would likely get clipping issues

I really like the idea, but unlikely to happen if they built all the armours with preset too.
Let's cross our fingers once again!

    An idea for 2.0

Would love an option during character creation so that we could pick if our character is left handed or right handed. I know this probably wouldn't be a priority but i think it would be a nice touch in helping expand differences in player characteristics.

    (yes , i am left handed. foreveralone.jpg)

I know it's not the same game and not even on the same engine, but in Soul Calibur 5, you can increase limb size and torso size, and plate armor and such will automatically scale to the new size, while still remaining stiff and rigid like metal should be. So it is technically possible, but I have no idea how much of extra work it would take to implement it.

Of course, I'll be the first one to admit that you can get some significant clipping issues in SC5, but the game also has characters of *very* different sizes that all share the same armor models. Naturally, in FF14, all races and genders already have their own version of all the different gear pieces, and minor adjustments to limb/torso sizes within the same race and gender would probably not lead to significant clipping even if armor sizes were to be auto-adjusted.

Another thing that could be nice would be a slider to adjust skin texture from being smooth looking to display contours of the muscles underneath. Such a texture change (with bump mapping, i guess?) could make the same size limb go from just being built/slightly fat to look muscular, without needing to change the 3D mesh.

As for left/right handed, if it's easy to just mirror the current animations and make that look good, why not, I guess? If it would require to re-make lots of animations manually, probably not.

Another thing I would love to see is tattoos, scars and other such features that were freely adjustable during character creation. Custom placement, size and rotation (and colors, for tattoos), but there should of course a limit on how many of these you could have in total, or things could get really ridiculous. I don't want people to "draw" cocks in their faces with a combination of scars and tattoos.

If the devs are worried about the amount of data that would need to be transferred for each character, it would be possible to cache characters clientside so that only gear data would need to be transferred each time after the first time you see someone.
