Spearfishing points depleted by fishing

Quite simple, if you hit fish in the immediate area around a spearfishing point after having spear fished the remainder depletes to 0 quite frustrating when you hit fish by mistake. Please fix it SE.

If SE "fix" this..
a lot of fishers who know how to keep their gathering rate competitive to other DoLs are going to cry,
while bot fishers who keeps on missing the fish, then getting junk fish afterwards are going to smile.

you can simply target the offhand node and spam your "confirm" button
instead of whatever the key you set for "synthesis / gathering"

What? How does this make any sense. Is there some sort of skill in hitting the spearfish node rather than the fishing node? I'm not sure you understand what the OP is asking for.

Again, I just don't get it. What the OP is asking is that the spearfish node doesn't get depleted when he accidentally hits the fishing node. How does this favor botters in any way (whatever advantage this would seem to give, normal fishers would receive the same advantage)

While you do have a valid point here, the method you describe depends on the user's setup and can easily be slower and more annoying to do. Yes, clicking the node does perform the "spearfish" action as you describe, but why should that be the only way to do this when there are two other methods that don't involve selecting the node. You describe one as the confirm button, and act as though it must be how OP is doing things because he's clearly a botter and an inferior player than you (puhleeze). OP could easily be (and more than likely is) using the menu or mini-menu and selecting the "spearfish" action that appears as default when it's available. The problem arises upon taking a step or two towards the fishing node, and that "spearfish" action gets replaced with the "fish" action and is selected as default. If you hit confirm as you're moving, you could easily accidentally perform the "fish" action instead of the desired "spearfish" action. The game then punishes you for your mistake and you miss out on the only partially harvested node.
