I wanted to make myself and my sister a Vanya Set because it is really pretty. Then I saw it needed HQ parts and expensive item from an NPC. I decided I wasn't willing to blow the gil I have saved up just in hopes of getting everything right so I could finally make the gear itself. I don't see these gears selling very well except for looks since most people today just use Jobs. I for one still do Ifrit on my THM and would have loved this set for that but oh well

Hopefully when 2.0 comes out and level cap is raised, the synth process for this will be more on par with other gears. I'd really love this set some day ^^

I would love it for CNJ solo or for when I'm not main-healing an endgame event... but yeah, the amount of money just isn't realistic right now. Even with farming all the mats, it's not a guarantee.

It is very hard to make gear for sure! It took several of my friends many hours to procure the mats and one extremely skilled crafter to make it. Which is also why I love this gear so much! They did it outta love! ^^

Its easy to say when you have the set that you want it to remain hard to get but I do believe if it was made to easy to obtain, it would no longer be as special. It would be like the AF gear and not something unique and worth working for.

And as far as the usefulness of the gear. It all depends on how you play and how you ultimately meld the gear. So far in some testing, with my Vanya melded, I can not only keep up with Black mages but sometimes out DPS them. As a thm, I have almost 400 more HP as well. The things you lose as thm over blm that are important are Flare, Convert & Sleepga. As for Flare, Firaga has the same cast time and does similar if not more damage from my tests but it doesn't leave the burning effect. To compensate for not having Convert, I use Elixirs that gimme 1050mp and I use my Parsimony wisely. As for Sleepga, if that is something that is required in the party, blm is the only option. No way to get around that but if you need damage, this set on a thm rocks! ^_^ But again, it all goes back to play style and skill of the player!
