    Importance of INT and PIE

these two stats, which are supposed to be govern the damage and effectiveness of spells seems to have little no effect on most spells.

Even the Second-Tier spells seem to perform WORSE than their first tier counterparts. Ancient Magic doesn't do anything either.

Have these stats been properly implemented, or is it something being discussed by the dev team?

They have very little effect. Vitality and Mind are really the only stats that really make a big difference. They are planning to fix the stats with the battle system update soon to come.

Yes as lindis stated the stats seems to have had little to no effect in certain situations, SE was aware of this and it was stated in one of the most recent topics.
However, we can still use it all to the best of our ability, and research still does help alot. =]

I think the original team's intention was to make a battle system where a character's damage output and input is normalized. This way, players can never be too weak. On the other hand, this system does not allow a well-equipped or well-specced player to excel too far above other people in the class. As you probably know, most of the difficulty against a mob is determined by a rank comparison.

Maybe they did this to promote fairness and facilitate the more casual aspect of the game--to help people who don't have the time to perfect their equips and stats. It's hard to say at this point, but it does seem like changes of some sort will come eventually.

I understand your frustration with the second tier spells. When I hit Conjurer 24, I was really excited to try out Fire II and the rest. It didn't take very long for me to completely lose that excitement. To be fair, the second tier nukes do increase in effectiveness as you increase in Rank, but the doubling of the MP cost and higher cooldown make the benefits questionable at times.

I have only gotten to my first second tier spell cure II and that really makes a huge differences in tough battles especially when it comes to soloing, guess i'll have to wait and see what the other spells

None of the stats are having major impact on damage output really, only significant impact I see, as pointed out above is MIND and VIT, which is obviously visible since they are, you know, MP and HP respectively.

I haven't noticed much with INT but PIE does make DoT last longer.. the stronger part for PIE I honestly don't know

INT & PIE are defintely noticable once you hit higher ranks, but they are completely halted once they reach their cap. Its there where you have to add on Magic Acc or Mag Pot equipment to really help see an improvement. Other than that, MND and VIT are defintely noticable since it governs MP and HP respectively.

Though I have to say, the effect of VIT on CON is negligible to say the least. Adding 10 VIT only gave me 30 hp. I agree that there's a huge problem with the way stats (all of them) affect a player's strength.
