FINAL FANTASY XIV GRANT A WISH CONTEST

Have you ever had a wish so pure and innocent only a fairy could grant it? Have you been waiting for this very fairy to fly your way ever since but you were never lucky enough to attract their attention? Fear no more as today your fellow adventurers will show their magical powers - and who knows, they might even grant your dearest wish. But beware, a little devil might be sitting on their shoulders, eagerly whispering into their ears. And what about yourself? Will you make their wishes come true?

If you don't fear that little fellow's influence, all you need to do to enter is write your dearest wish as well as grant the previous adventurer's one in the Contest Entries Thread. We will then choose the winners based on creativity, fantasy and (appropriate!) humour. For our lucky winners we have great prizes up for grabs, so get your thinking caps on and your magic wands ready!

Contest Summary:


REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER

• You must be in possession of an official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum Account to enter (i.e. entrants are required to have both an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account and Square Enix account)
• Entry is limited to residents of the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Entries received from residents of other European countries may appear on the official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum thread for the contest but will NOT be eligible to win a prize.
• You must agree to all the official rules and regulations.

ENTRY METHOD

• Grant the wish of the former poster and reply to their post with an unfortunate consequence.
• Add your own wish to your post for the next entrant to grant it.
• Entrants cannot reply to their own posts.
• Entrants automatically enter the category "Best wish" by posting their wish and "Funniest answer" by granting the previous player's wish.

* This is a region-specific contest and users are only allowed to submit their entry to the forum associated with their registered user name.

*Limited to three (3) entries (posts) per contestant. If more than three (3) entries are made by one contestant, only the first three (3) entries will be valid.

*Normal forum rules apply to all posts within the contest thread.

* Square Enix reserves the right to judge whether or not materials submitted are appropriate for public display. Inappropriate submissions will be moderated without warning. Any entries that fall under one of the following categories will be automatically disqualified and the posts will be deleted by a moderator:


-Any posts containing obscenity, vulgarity, discrimination, or any other offensive subject matter
-Infringements upon copyright/intellectual property, personal credit, privacy, etc.

SELECTION

1. Winners will be selected by the Square Enix Community Team members based on fantasy, humour and creativity and their decision shall be final.
2. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 16th 2012 10:00 GMT on the official FFXIV Forum page.
3. Prizes can be won in the following categories: "Best wish" and "Funniest answer".
4. A total of six (6) winners will be selected, one winner per category and language (English, German French).
5. Each contestant can only win one (1) prize.

PRIZES

• Winners will receive one virtual in-game "Scarf of Wondrous Wit" (no monetary value).
• Prizes will be delivered directly into the inventory of the main character linked to the forum account participant after contacting a GM in-game.
• You will receive a confirmation email from the Square Enix Support Centre once your prize has been delivered to you in-game.

ELIGIBILITY
NO ADDITIONAL PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
COMPETITION IS OPEN ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF THE UK, GERMANY, FRANCE, SPAIN and ITALY OVER THE AGE OF 13. PROOF OF AGE AND/OR RESIDENCY MAY BE REQUIRED. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO PROVIDE THE NAME AND VALID EMAIL ADDRESS OF A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. WE MAY SEND AN E-MAIL TO YOUR PARENT OR GUARDIAN REQUESTING CONFIRMATION THAT THEY CONSENT TO YOUR ENTRY. IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE SUCH CONFIRMATION WE MAY CHOOSE NOT TO INCLUDE YOUR ENTRY IN THE COMPETITION. SQUARE ENIX WILL NOT AWARD PRIZES TO ENTRANTS WHO RESIDE OUTSIDE OF THE UK, GERMANY, FRANCE, SPAIN OR ITALY. You must possess an official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum Account to submit an entry (this requires Entrants to have an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account and Square Enix account). Directors, officers, and employees of Square Enix and any of their respective affiliated companies, subsidiaries, agents, professional advisors, advertising/promotional agencies and/or immediate family members of each are not eligible to enter. A. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS
Maximum of 3 entries (posts) per contestant. All Entrants must agree to these official rules in order to enter and receive any of the prizes.


B. COMPETITION PERIOD
The competition period is from Wednesday, May 2nd 2012 8:00 GMT to Monday, May 14th 2012 10:00 GMT. All entries must be received by the closing date to be eligible to win a prize.


C. PRIZES
Eligible Entrants are eligible to win an in-game item of no monetary value (Scarf of Wondrous Wit).

Winner(s) will be announced on the official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum on Wednesday, May 16th 2012. Prizes will be awarded after the winner(s) has been announced. Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions or exchanges (including cash) of any prizes will be permitted, except when Square Enix reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any of the prizes listed. All prizes are awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, expressed or implied, including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or suitability for a particular purpose.

As a condition of being awarded any prize, except where prohibited by law, winners may be required to provide written confirmation of their consent to the use of their name, location, likeness, and/or prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without further permission or compensation. The use of an entry, commentary regarding an entry, timing and location of any announcement regarding the Competition or any entry, and all other matters concerning the Competition will be decided upon by Square Enix in its sole discretion. The Competition and applicable Competition rules will be governed, construed, and interpreted under the laws of England and Wales. Entrants agree to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of Square Enix, which are final and binding in all respects. Square Enix reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Competition or any entrant’s participation in the Competition should viruses, bugs, unauthorised human intervention or other causes beyond Square Enix’s control affect the administration, security or proper running of the Competition or Square Enix otherwise becomes, as determined at its sole discretion, incapable of running the Competition as intended. Entrants who violate the Competition rules, tamper with the running of the Competition or engage in any conduct that is detrimental to Square Enix, the Competition or any other entrant, in each case as determined at Square Enix’s sole discretion, are subject to disqualification from entering into the Competition.


F. FORCE MAJEURE
Square Enix reserves the right to change, suspend, or cancel the Competition if, in Square Enix’s sole discretion, intervening circumstances warrant such change, suspension or cancellation. Intervening circumstances may include, but are not limited to strikes, labour disputes, war, insurrections, revolutions, terrorism, riots or other civil disturbances, earthquakes, fires, floods or other natural disasters, governmental restrictions, embargoes or other exercises of governmental authority, unavailability of supplies, components or material or any other cause beyond Square Enix’s control.


G. DISCLAIMER
Square Enix, all participating sponsors, and any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, professional advisors, employees and agencies will not be responsible for: (a) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled, distorted or damaged transmissions of entries; (b) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, internet or other computer or communications related malfunctions or failures; (c) any disruptions to the Competition caused by events beyond the control of Square Enix or other participating sponsors; or (d) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Competition.
