A few general questions...

Hi, I started playing XIV recently, I played before but I only got to level 20 or so, and everything seems different (For example, Dodos no longer destroy me for no reason >.>)

But yeah...

1) At the release of 2.0, I've seen that you're allowed to create 8 characters... Will we still be able to level every class/job on one character? One thing I always loved about FFXI, was having every job on one character, it made me feel more attached to him.

2) Crafting... I've read conflicting opinions, but is it general consensus that each light = a different success rate? For example white light is high success chance, and rainbow is low success chance? They also seem to have a larger effect depending on the quality of light.

3) What does getting access to a wood yard/cloth shop/gemmary have?

4) Does the initial bar on disciples of the land have any effect?

1) 1 character can be all classes, although it takes alot of inventory space to keep all gear. (In 2.0 I think they said they would fix the inventory somehow)

2)You are correct, white is best, flashing is getting unstable

3)Getting access used to improve synth chances but not sure anymore as I believe this is being phased out

4)Yes depending on where you select to gather on the bar, you will get different items. See http://www.disciplesoftheland.com/Default.aspx for some nice information on "hotspots" to gather certain items

Just to clarify about the crafting colors, from highest to lowest chance of success it goes White, Yellow, Red, and Rainbow. However, the lower the success chance is, the more potent your progress/quality gains will be if you manage to succeed. It's up to you to decide whether you want to take the risk or not.
