Current game population?

I remember seeing some threads pre 1.21 and pre-merger about FFXIV's number of subscribers, but haven't seen anything since. Has the population gone up after the merges and new content?

Well naturally, reducing servers and merging communities increases populations. If your question is more directed to new players coming, well good question.

Yes I'm referring to new players coming in, if the new content has caused an increase in player subscriptions.

well I can't prove it but I think population has increased, I use to see newbies wandering around the lowlvl camps and cities. Also time ago the fan sites forums were full of people complaining about the game and quiting. Now is more common to see the folks posting for resubing and new players coming.

I guess the diference is not really big but is a positive step.

I think if anything it may have caused some re-subbing, but the amount of brand new players is pretty excruciating.

Probably is increasing, but only very slightly. Given the game is now just 3 months away from entering the 'final phase' into 2.0, and the more stable condition over all, existing players that are still here aren't really quitting as much. Some players who quit a long time ago are probably starting to lurk in a bit, and there's the odd new player completely, ... but i think it's just a small increase, which is better than a continued decline.

I'll be interested to see what happens from June onward when SE finally starts advertising 2.0

well, if you count myself, and 2 of my friends that started a few weeks ago, then yes. the population is +3.

i started up again in february after quitting at launch. in the past month i have convinced 3 other friends to try the game and they are enjoying. if thats any indication i think increase. game feels alive again and i get positive vibes on the other forums instead of complaining and moaning like before

I also came back in Feb after a launch quit. It's good to see things have stabilized. We can only go up from here!
