    WHM and Food

I know most other jobs have a food they enjoy using, but I don't know if there's a preferred WHM food or not. As a WHM and aspiring CUL, I would love some feedback on what you prefer. These are my original thoughts (in order of thought usefulness):

La Noscean Toast: Def 7% (max 51) and Vit 3% (max 7)
Defense is always good, and Vitality for Enhancing Magic

Dzemael Gratin: Magic Evasion 6% (max 31) and Mnd 3% (max 7)
Magic Evasion also good, and Mind for Healing Magic Potency

Buttons Mushroom Sautee: Magic Accuracy 7% (max 32) and Mnd 3% (max 7)
Magic Accuracy for better chance of Crit. Cures(maybe?) and Mind for Healing Magic Potency

Apkallu Omelette: HP 5% (max 220)
    HP is always good

Pineapple Juice: MP 5% (max 190)
MP is MP, not too much of an issue with WHM

Dried Prunes: Magic Crit Potency +5
    Pure speculation....Healing crit?

Note: Some foods have other attributes not relevant to WHM-ing.

I'd go with the MP most likely. Thanks for the quick little sumary of a few new dishes.

One thing I'd say is that since you can't hit the defense/vit caps listed on the toast then it should be replaced with a much cheaper lower rank food, I know I dont' get the divine message on whm/blm when using knights bread which has a lower cap then the toast.

Healing does critical and the effect is quite noticeable (1200 vs 1600 for cura), but I think HP food is best choice for most situations.

I agree with this, HP helps with survivability, second wind, and blissful mind. Overall the best stat you can get from the food available.

I am quite disappointed in the options for healing food. Hopefully soon they will offer us a MP + MND combo.

Something I'd like to toss out there is that dried prunes (and other sweets) also have a benefit of raising our attack magic potency. I know we're healers, not damage dealers, but especially when doing low man content I sometimes find it handy to toss out a stone/stonera combo. Also, magic accuracy may be quite useful if you're using Repose for crowd control. With patch 1.21 completely removing the recast timer for Repose, it's entirely possible to sleep a group of mobs (I was doing this when helping out on some job quests just last night).

Well if you are looking for whm food:

    Healer/Support Mage Foods (White Mage/CNJ)
    Chanterelle Saute-Mag Acc+13% (up to 7) Mind+6% (up to 3)
    Forest Miq'abobs-Mag Acc+9% (up to 16) Mind+5% (up to 4)
    ButtonsMushSaute-Mag Acc+7% (up to 32) Mind+3% (up to 7)

Orange Juice- MP+15% (up to 30) Mag Craft. +20% (up to 5)
Grape Juice- MP+10% (up to 50) Mag Craft +18% (up to 7)
Chamomile Tea-MP+8% (up to 80) Mag Craft +16% (up to 10)
Apple Juice- MP+7% (up to 120) Mag Craft. +14% (up to 12)
Mulled Tea- MP+6% (up to 160) Mag Craft +12% PIE +3
Pineapple Juice- MP+5% (up to 190) Mag Craft +12% (up to 15)

These foods typically boost DEF or base HP's.
    Boiled Egg- HP+ 15% (up to 30)
Mustard Eggs- HP+10% (up to 70)
    Deviled Eggs- HP+ 6% (up to 180)
Apkallu Omelette HP=5% (up to 220)

Flatbread- Def+13% (up to 15) VIT +7% (up to 3)
Walnut Bread Def+11% (up to 22) VIT +5% (up to 4)
Dark Pretzel Def+9% (up to 30) VIT +4% (up to 5)
Acorn Cookie Def+8% (up to 41) VIT +3% (up to 6)
La Noscan Toast Def+7% (up to 51) VIT+3% (up to 7)

Personally, I like Mulled Tea and Button Mushroom Saute as my 'go to' Healer foods. I think they are more rounded overall. (Mulled tea is a slightly lower mp boost, but the added pie is more important in my opinion). Also, if I found I needed a little extra def/vit I'd eat La Noscan Toast over Eggs, but the toast is very situational. I just don't think the egg dishes boost your hp's enough to outdo other food options.

Bolded foods are 'better for capped players'.

I'd argue that Buttons in a Blanket are more useful than the Sautee because they add a little bit of INT instead of MND, and generally if you're eating Magic Accuracy food you'll be nuking, but either choice is fine.

I agree with you on using Mulled Tea over Pineapple Juice, but for a different reason. Using the Juice on my WHM I only get a "tasty" message which means I don't get the full boost (I didn't make note of how much I was getting but it wasn't the full bonus), so most players might be better off getting the Mulled Tea if it's less expensive/more available anyway.

It might be a similar situation with the Apkallu Omelet and maybe the Deviled Eggs might be better for most WHMs due to lower HP, but I'd have to test it out. Generally though, if you aren't getting the max boost from the highest tier foods you will get more of a boost from a lower tier food since the lower tiers have lower caps but higher % boosts.

It's too bad there is no food that gives a Healing Magic boost (unless I'm just missing it).

For now I've been eating Acorn Cookies and get a "tasty" message... so Dark Pretzels may be a better choice, but Acorn Cookies seem to be more available in the markets.

I figure that boosting my own defense for survivability will help in the long run since I'm no use to anyone if I die first.

The mushroom dishes seemed interesting, but I rarely miss with attack spells anyway (and cures don't miss at all) and the Mind boost seems a bit small.
