    HQ item oddities

    We have been investigating the bonuses on HQ items, and there appears to be a nice and consistent equation that dictates an increase (20% but not less than 1) to a single stat on a crafted item - that is except for a mere three exceptions, which have a 30% increase:

    Pearl Ring (Magic Crit Rate+7 -> +9)
    Black Pearl Ring (Magic Crit Rate+10 -> +13)
    Coral Armillae (Evasion +8 -> +10)

    Now maybe this in intentional (and yeah not a LOC issue, but maybe not a bug either), but seemed strange enough that it warranted a post where I can be assured it will be seen and addressed.

    EDIT: all credit to wiki editor Jerynh for the above research/discovery.

    hq now is same as +2 was before, aka 20% increase. At least thats what they said themselves in patch notes. This is most likely a bug, as its intentional that it should be 20%, good job finding it htough :P

    +2s were a 10% increase, but only for the base stats (damage or defense).

    The additional stats apparently do not need to follow any rhyme or reason.

    Greetings Gahoo,

    I arranged a meeting in a dimly lit alley behind a nearby convenience store to discuss the reasoning behind the bloated stat bonuses on these three items. After a lengthy conversation, my contact revealed his secret equation...but only under the condition that I do not repeat it. However, I can tell you that it is a fairly simple process, involving only three steps, the first incorporating that percentage value you mentioned above. What I can also tell you, is that when they processed the numbers for all the HQ items, it wasn't done automatically, but rather individually by hand. The reason behind this being so that they could further tweak items they believed needed a bit of a boost (to make them extra special!).

    I know that probably wasn't the definitive answer you were looking for, but I hope it helps!

    Thanks Fernehalwes. The answer is what it is. Just means we need to check HQ values and look for these oddities and not report them as bugs. (Sample of how we are displaying HQ info).

    PS. Variable % boosts I can deal with, but if we start getting items with >1 stat boosted, or worse, >1 stat boosted with different percentages, I will not be a happy wiki coder.

    FYI to those interested, we have located a few more of these. Looks like all craftable Unique items get an extra +1 along with the increased x% boost, making at least 1 HQ item have the equivalent of a 200% stat bonus increase.
