Well, you are on my server.
If you want any kind of help for the group content, then I will give you a nice little carry.

You can just enjoy the story and when you hit a dungeon, ask paladinleeds or me for help and we can get you through it without a problem.

The group content is not really hard and you can easily have up to date leveling gear.

I don't mean to sound like an asshole but you're playing an MMO...you're going to be required to play with people to progress through the game as a large majority of the game is structured around groups. Hell, even if you use the level/story boost, once you get to endgame, most of the content involves being in a party. Trials/Raids, running dungeons to farm tomes, even the Ishgard Rebuild (that is for crafting classes) requires working with people to an extent.

Once again, not being a dick. Just trying to understand what you're trying to get out of the game.

If you level boosted to 80, and saved up your money to buy item level 480 crafted gear from the market board, you could probably solo all main story content except the boss fights of Shadowbringers, as well as all optional content before Shadowbringers... provided you play a tank, healer, or red mage.

You might face some difficulties with level 70 content. You should be able to solo all level 70 dungeons, but some of the later ones might be difficult. There are also two mandatory 8-man boss fights at level 70. The first one should be easy if you have a job that can heal (it's harder soloing as a Dark Knight or Warrior). I haven't tried soloing the second one, but it should be even harder. A paladin will have the best chances of soloing everything, probably followed by red mage and healers. The main difficulty as Dark Knight or Warrior is the lack of on-demand healing.

Once you hit Shadowbringers, all story dungeons can be run with NPC parties, but there are three 8-man bosses that will have to be fought with groups. Most people treat other players in Duty Finder groups as anonymous NPCs anyway, so you shouldn't feel bad about doing that yourself. You can even turn off the chat window during the fight without any problems.

Thanks for all the replies. I know there are many people that can't understand why a soloer plays an mmorpg, but honestly they are so much more fun to play than a single player rpg. There's so much going on, that even just hanging around crowded areas people watching is interesting. Anyway, I enjoy them so I'll carry on as best I can. I'm not bothered that I won't be able to play the end game, but it would be nice to have a variety of options to level which is why I was interested in the beast tribes. I am absolutely hopeless in dungeons for too many reasons to go into so I'll continue to avoid them and just play what parts of the game I can (which are still considerable ). To those who offered to help, I really do appreciate it, but I would fret over going into one with you, even though I know you would be very patient. Still, nice to know there are so many people like you in game.

We offered you help because we have the time anyway.
For me it's always nice to see first reactions from new players, like how they start moving in wrong direction, get surprised by a suddenly appearing add or when they just look out of a window for a while because it is a damn nice looking game.
Also we get something usefull when helping a firsttimer through a dungeon, so it's not a waste of time for us.

Btw, it gets even better for soloplayer late into the game and with level 80 you can easily do the level 1-60 dungeons on your own.

Are you just not progressing the main story at all? You're not only missing out on some great story (the majority of the game, honestly), but you won't be able to access any content above level 50, at all, without either doing or skipping the story. This includes gathering, and your crafting will be severely limited as well. I don't recommend skipping the story, but if you do, at least you could go to the level 50-70 zones.

As has been mentioned, though, you'll still get stuck in the story even if you skip it because you're going to be required to do group content that Trusts can't be used for to progress.

I suggest you take the help you're being offered. If you feel bad, you could even pay someone (in gil) to carry you through content.

Sorry if this is "personal" and you're welcome to not respond to it. But is there any particular reason why you don't want to to run group content? Are you scared of anonymous strangers or something? Thats not me beating you down, some people are like that for various reasons, and thats ok. Im asking because there are ways to get around issues preventing you from enjoying activities with people and a lot of people willing to help. Take me for instance. IRL, being in groups doesnt bother me unless theyre new people. I dont shut down, but I get super quiet which is about a 180 of my personality if you where to know me personally. And yet i dont have an issue with public speaking. Weird right? /shrug.

If its the interaction/attention you get, let me explain how 90% of non-savage group activities go in FFXIV (and most can confirm this, dont just take my word for it):

    *Activity Starts*
    "Hi everyone"
*The entire dungeon is ran without a single word spoken*
    "GG" (Good Game)
    *Activity Ends*

If you're worried you are bad at your job, i wouldn't let it get to you. You gotta superrrrrrr suck to get anybody but the douchiest of douches to say anything (Ive ran into maybe 3 in my 1000+ hours) And if you're getting through the content this far, you cant suck that bad.

We might be on different servers but send me a FR if you want to Johnathan Riftborne on the server Goblin. Im on most night and am happy to roll some content with you.
