Lagging since recent patch; Was fine before.

Hello! I have been experiencing lag since the recent patch (Ishgard/Diadem implementation). At first, I thought it must be because there are so many people online. Maybe that's why. But even in inactive hours when Limsa is near empty, I still experience it. So when I am in the Diadem, it takes me twice or thrice the time to finish gathering a single node. But I can see other people gathering at a normal speed. When I am idling about in Gridania or Limsa, people are doing that running/stopping thing. Note that I have never had a problem with lag before. Also, I seem to fine (from what I've noticed anyway) in instances/dungeons. No lag there. I already rebooted my modem hoping it'd help, but it didn't. Any advice or aid is welcomed!

Hi, having the same issue here. I was fine last night, but tonight it's been non-stop stuttering and lag for me. People standing still for 5-10 seconds a time and then huge catch-up happening. I only recently came back to the game about a month ago, and this is the first lag/connection I've experienced.

I'm on Brynhildr. Lag is the same whether I'm questing on the server or joining cross server activities (PVP or Roulettes). I'm on wired connection. Have Verizon FIOS and I'm on the East Coast in the VA/DC Metro area.

Hello! Thank you for your reply! I am connected via WiFi. If I am in an instance, I don't experience lag. At least, I have yet to notice if I do. But in towns, I lag. Players around me do that run/stop/run thing. I am on right now and I can barely tell it's happening (thankfully!), but there is still that slight stuttering. Can definitely feel the lag during gathering.

I've been having the same issue since patch or even before that. I think it may have started just the day before patch I think, although I can't 100% remember. Anyway, I thought it was my internet connection but I've ran numerous speed test and the ping and jitter ms are all fine. Plus I also just changed my internet service as well because I thought it was my old service that was the culprit but I'm still having the same issue. I've updated my drivers, my windows software, etc. Still having same issue. I'm in Exodus. I only noticed it happening with dungeons at first but now it's happening in towns as well where players around me would be running around and then stop/freeze for a few seconds. It also happens in diadem.

There's a large FPS drop if more ppl are gathering at the same place like for example 100+ players at Limsa, or more ppl doing S-Ranks, Eureka, Diadem. This has been a while since I started playing back in 20017. I hope they fix this. I have 90 FPS in-game with Standard settings (60+ FPS on High settings)...but when ppl started to gather that's when my FPS drops to 39 on Standard settings and less than 30 while on High graphics settings.

A wireless connection will be less stable than a wired one. Is it possible to connect to your router with an Ethernet cable?
