Dont you think that too ? Are you happy with Aetherpact/Fairy Gauge?
It's pretty solid to heal through autos, saving your cohealer the need to use their own regen. Am I happy with it? Don't know, I can't say that its complete garbage as it is kind of good but at the same time it could be slightly better than it currently is. I'm not quite sure if scholar needs more healing tools/power in its current kit.

It's effectively 125 potency per cast if spammed (slightly less due to GCD and server tick being not quite equal.) Combined with Shadowflare at 50 potency per tick for 5 ticks it bumps it up to 175 effective potency per tick (again, slightly less due to server tick vs. GCD.)
Art of War - 160 potency instant damage that is 100% spammable.

Art of War is objectively better than Miasma II on its own. The combination of Shadowflare and Miasma II is better than Art of War dps-wise, but only barely and the main advantage to the two old spells being that there's a ticking 75 potency that keeps going if you take a GCD to heal. Miles better they are not,

Another of Shadowflare's main bonuses was the Slow that it provided against attacking mobs. That slow often times made it better to use than sacred soil in dungeons.

That's all they had to do to Miasma II to balance it. Make the initial hit low enough and the dot big enough to provide a good benefit and stop it from being spammed. That's it.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

This expanasion has been a mess. Astro should have gotten an AoE DoT too instead of butchering the other healer's kits. I would have really enjoyed getting a ground targeted Meteor Shower for Astro that functioned like the oGCD version of Shadow Flare. Something they could weave in for extra damage in single target and multi target scenarios. Scholar should have gotten Art of War in addition to Miasma 2 and all there DoTs and Bane so we actually have a rotation for AoE. We'd get Art of War at 45 and Meteor Shower and Miasma 2 could have been Heavenward abilities. WHM should have gotten a trait to turn Fluid Aura into an AoE attack as well at higher levels since they were so committed to keeping it but made it functionally useless for whatever reason. All the healers should have grown into better and more unique variations of playstyles but we went the opposite direction and made them all identically terrible.
