Clearly they have gone away with meaningful use of offhands for combat. The only reason to keep it is glamour reason, which I must ask. Is it enough to change what is now a core fundamental? Anyone want black mages to use shields again?

I'd prefer to be able to glam a one handed BLM weapon if possible. Mainly because they rest on the hip rather than your back and therefore don't clip through your hair/hat.
Still, I think that'd be even more work than making glamour off-hands. One handed and two handed options for WHM/BLM are technically entirely separate weapons, from the games perspective I think it would be like trying to glam a PLD sword over a MCH gun.

That sounds actually neat, OP. But I can already foresee the response: Spaghetti Code (Please look forward to it). lol
Honestly, if paladin/gladiator had been added post 2.0 I suspect that the sword/shields would come as one singular item and that we only get it the way it is now because of legacy code, and people would complain about having the options we have now taken away.

Plot Twist:
That's how they added GNB!
On Topic:
It'd be nice to allow the dual wielding jobs to be able to use multiple glams for MH and OH weapons. Though, how feasible it would be is uncertain, since it would involve going through all of the current weapons and modulizing them so that MH and OH are actually seperate objects, in addition to then adding in some sort of way to glam the OH's.
Given that we still don't have the capabilities to have Glams save to equipment sets and instead still rely on them saving to the item it's not a particularly simple case of just adding in an OH slot that can override the appearance of the OH item.
That said, I can still hope they'll add in a way to do Glams saving to equipment sets and thus set the precedent needed to make this functionality to work, especially since the sooner they do it, the less weapons they need to go back and work on to allow the asymmetrical weapon glams function.
It's not impossible to figure out a way to do this with Glams, though, it all depends on how badly the spaghetti code messes with stuff.
For example, if they add in a tab on your equipment screen (Possibly by simply using the Glamour Plate button, with it having the option to load a saved plate as an extra button at the bottom of your character image with the other options) which opens up a "Dummy Equipment" screen, like the one you see when making a Glamour Plate which you can then save Glamours to, where slots you add Glamours to will override equipped items while slots left blank will use your equipped item appearance instead (Just like applying a Glamour Plate currently does)
That would allow for saving of Glamours to an equipment set, not only allowing for the possibility of them then expanding on it to afford this suggestion of alternate OH weapon Glams, but also mean that you can use multiple different Glams between Equipment Sets that use shared Equipment (I.e. If all my Tanks are using the same "Generic Tomestone Armour of Fending" I'd be able to use a different Glam on all 4 of them)
But again, it depends on what their spaghetti code will let them do. It could be if they tried this something weird would happen, like the game deletes all Lalafells or something... (Perhaps they should do it anyway)
