No one is stopping anyone in real life, as long as the outfit physically fits on your body. However, pressuring a real life shoe company to produce their women's shoes in extremely large sizes so that they would fit the handful of men interested in buying them, would rightly be considered obnoxious. That's a waste of their resources. People forget that the devs actually have to spend time fitting the outfit on different races and genders. It isn't just flipping a switch.

a piece of clothing cant be 'male' or 'female' and robes fit healers and mages plus they look better than shirts and theres still various plate armors you can getIt would be nice if SE remembers that male characters account almost half the population of XIV and stop adding more and more dresses and feminine gear sets.
They also hate metallic and chain armor designs (prolly due the limitation of the graphics engine or due to their blindfolds who knows).
I don't really like buying things from the Mog Station and I try to stay away from it but the sheer lack of male glamours baffles me.
