Does the game crash immediately? Do you by any chance have Mactype installed and enabled for the game?

SE added some form of protection to the game and when it trips, the game will crash with a 6d error. Mactype is one program that will trip it.

well... i haven't contacted SE about this, because they never offer any actual support on any issue when trying that route. they wouldn't fix my password device thingy that came with a ARR CE copy of the game. they wouldn't refund, or compensate, me for double charging my card in the past. they wouldn't compensate me when stealing my product registration key, forcing me to purchase a second one... in the end i don't expect SE to actually do anything to help anyone. however, one can still hope... it won't hurt to try and i have just sent a ticket in... we shall see :/

the admin group fix thing appears to only work on Pro versions of Windows and not Home versions. but despite that, running the Guest account has not resolved the issue.

the game doesn't even launch. the error is produced immediately when clicking "Play".

and i don't use any VPN, or Mactype. again, even after a completely fresh install of Windows the issue is not fully resolved. there is nothing on my end causing this issue.

Square Enix needs to fix it, because it is on their end. something wrong with the launcher. again, i am not the only who has yet to find a proper solution for this. and i am certainly not the only one who got this error directly after update 5.2. plenty got the error, and some of us are still looking for a solution.

overall, it shouldn't be up to the user to fix this. Square Enix did something and it broke something. they should fix it, not us.

well, in the end... with each passing day it becomes painfully more obvious that Square Enix has no intention of fixing this. whatever. maybe if i start believing in unicorns?
