I much prefer to do treasure maps and you do get tomes.

I also love treasure maps. Possibly too much; I've managed to harvest and hoard 18 zonureskin maps by stuffing them into retainers, into my chocobo saddlebag, and mailing them to friends who then mail them back to me so as to temporarily use my mailbox like retainer storage.

Once I finish work and log on tonight, it'll be 19 maps.

More seriously, if I had done much of any other content in a week, I found myself capping on weekly Phantasmagoria without meaning to in 5.1 after even a fairly smallish map party—four people each with 2 maps to run, for instance, so 8 maps total.
