    Question about BLM

I played ARR and Heavensward with a BLM, and now I'm playing Stormblood with a RDM, but I'm not sure if I like this job. I'm thinking of going back to BLM. How complex is the job right now? I saw there is a jauge now. Is it easy to deal with it? Or do you have any suggestion of DPS job not too complex with a minimum of support? I know that sounds like "I don't want to help other players", but I need to focuse on what I'm doing, I don't have the reflex to watch what's going on with the others and deal with all the mechanics of a boss at the same time. I know how I am and I don't want to have a full support job knowing I will be a poor support in the party because of my limits and make everybody angry or perplex about it! Thanks!

Just keeping enochian up is key. Once you get good into your rotation, it just becomes natural.

BLM at its core isn't too different than it was in HW. Its actually easier and more forgiving imo. Majority of your rotation is still throwing f4's and one f1 in there to keep astral fire active. b4 doesn't refresh enochian anymore, eno stays active as long as you have umbral ice or astral fire now and thats it. b4 instead gives you umbral hearts which decrease mp cost of fire spells. This just means you can cast 6f4's and a f1 in a fire rotation instead of 5f4s and a f1.

The gauge is just for polygot, it builds a stack every 30 seconds you hold enochian, and stacks up to 2 times once you're 80. It's used for either xenoglossy or foul. Xeno is for single target burst, and moving because its instant cast, foul for aoe.

Just maintain enochian, use despair at the end of fire rotation, and everything else kind of falls into place. Use triple cast to weave OGCDs as well.

The core of the BLM rotation doesnt changed much after level 60. Spam Fire 4, keep eno up with timed Fire 1 casts, use ice phase to regen mana and reapply thunder dot. Thats still 90% of it. Adding a Foul/Xeno once per 30 seconds isnt a big change, and finishing a fire cycle with Despair is the last trick theyve added. But it comes at the same time as a trait that allows you to cast an ice spell for 0 mana while on full fire stacks, so after despair drains your mana you just go straight into the ice phase as normal. You do get a big change to the AoE rotation at 68. At that level you get an ability to use flare and still have mana left(if you have at least one umbral heart), meaning you can go back to back without a cooldown(like an ether or manafont). At the same time your basic ice AoE(which is now Freeze) gets an ability that grants it one heart per cast. Meaning that your aoe rotation can just be freeze thunder 4 flare flare freeze(add foul once per 30 seconds). The whole rotation ends up feeling very smooth once youve got a handle on it.

The job is is very simple to play when you don't have to move. The rotation is rather basic and takes very little practice to get used to.
BLM difficulty comes from being able to never loose enochan while moving while keeping the GCD rolling. The game provides you tons of tools to do so and BLM having no mobility is just something someone who hasn't played BLM since HW would say. BLM have TONS of mobility. But it comes in the form of proc and ogcd that you need to manage (which requires good understand of the encounter when you reach higher level)

So the BLM is the incarnation of "simple to understand, hard to master". It is the job with the widdest game between the "bad" and "good" blm. Meaning that a bad blm will do much much lower dps than a good BLM.
When it comes to the rotation people already explained enough so I won't bother repeating ^^

As a side note, BLM is a VERY rewarding job to play.
