    WoL is REALLY powerful.

Just from eden alone, it shows how high WoL durability is.
He tanked a beam that crashed into a galaxy and said beam covered the entire galaxy star.
Eden is canon too so not some random what if boss fight like the ultimates.

Based on the trailer wol can change jobs at will in mid combat so in that case, let\\'s just say he has all the training he\\'s done with each job.
Just from Mnk, WoL striking power is crazy high.
Remember from SB trailers he was training with lyse and just from his strikes was making rumbles to make water ribble.
Then we have his sword swings, that apparently causes strong burst of wind that can destroy buildings and evaporate water and clear cloudy skies as seen in the ShB trailer.

Correct me if I\\'m wrong because it\\'s been awhile but WoL has almost instant regeneration thanks to the 6th? or 7th? Chakra.
If it wasn\\'t for suspense of disbelief for the sake of giving the WoL a challenge.
    The WoL can\\'t lose.

You have to take the Eden ult with some grains of salt. Given its the inside of Eden, and therefore Eden's dominant space/mental place, it looks like a galactic attack but most likely definitely is not.

In the trailer vs Lyse, Lyse was also striking just as hard and making the same water ripples and vibrations, and Lyse is definitely not WoL level of strength (Altho she is very strong, yes.)

In general though you have to take trailers as what they are--visual entertainment. Case in point: the trailer has him cutting the sky with his sword and darkness power, but in the actual MSQ, the WoL splits the sky with the draining of a massive amount of light-aspected aether.

We are very strong, yes, but the trailers make the WoL/WoD appear stronger than they actually are for entertainment purposes.

Also Eden's attack was basically a rehash of it's GF summon animation from FFVIII (right down to the planet-covering mandala) so what is being shown on screen... might actually be mostly fluff and not representative of the damage it actually causes to those caught in it, as Kidria said above.

The Warrior of Light is powerful yes, and even more so at the end of ShB when
Ardbert rejoined his soul to them
, but they are still just a mortal, even they have limits to their endurance and strength. And as the original timeline where the 8th Umbral Calamity occured showed only too well, they too can succumb just as easily to something as simple as poison gas. The WoL is powerful, but they're still a mortal with mortal failings and vunerabilities just as everyone else.

To some degree, I think you have to suspend disbelief for some animations. Sephiroth's motivation in VII is to summon a meteor to damage the planet, but then, during the final boss fight, he summons a Supernova that destroys most of the Solar System which shows that he really didn't need the dang Meteor in the first place if he was capable of that! Similarly, the summons from XII more or less destroy the planet each time they use their Deathblows. Especially Zodiark!

I think this over the top attacks are meant to be like "i bend the fabric of reality and trample you with the most powerful thing i can think of!", for example is said that Sephiroth's final attack is in fact an illusion, speaking of, in the fight against the High Seraph she cast "ultimate illusion" and transforms our surroundings into hell.

You can't really disprove it though, eden's beam.
    I mean.
Also what I meant by the sword was actually the slash with zenos.
I have to disagree with you thinking the trailer is just visual entertainment...well it is. But I think it's a good representation of WoL strength.
Obviously we can't do that in game for obvious reasons like changing jobs mid combat.

Think of it like sonic the hedgehog, he runs faster than light but you don't ever see him do that in-game because well...its a game and it needs gameplay.
Image if every punch from mnk makes stuff rumble around the party and every samurai slash destroys everything around him.

Don't forget about Chaos' "Brink of Delusion" from Dissidia.
