Coming back after 5 years

Hi!, post it on new player section because i didn't play FFXIV since 2015, the question is, it is worth start a new carachter or try to use again my main?
the problem is that i forgot a lot of things and many others probably were changed.
I am asking for the fastest way to come back on board.

So much has changed in the past five years, you’re going to be learning things regardless of starting over or not.
You can probably learn your skills and such simply by reading your tool tips.
Unless you’re concerned about the story, I’m not sure what starting anew would accomplish for you. If you simply have the desire to learn from a low level and grow into experience, you can swap classes and do much the same.

You could use your same character but the job that you were 5 years ago will have seen many changes since your last play.
Jobs were reworked a few times, Bard for instance has changed pretty significant i would say.
Much has been added to the game, content such as Palace of the Dead allows you to level outside of the actual world so like you could be level 50 in there while level 15 outside.
This place allows you to see your abilities before actually getting them in other words.

Thanks! I did start a new job with my main, after that i will try to play again with the Bard and see what is changed.
