Latency Increase from 140ms to 205ms, Elemental DC

    Good day,

There has been a substantial ping increase that was first noticed around 3 weeks ago.
No variation depending on the time of day/night. No packet loss either. Has remained this high ever since.
Wired connection without any changes to the network settings.

Please forgive me, as I don't have proof of the 140ms that used to be normal before.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

The trace route you provided seems relatively stable. The only issue is that the travel time is rather high. Unfortunately, this seems to start after it leaves your home network, meaning any changes you make to your PC or router are unlikely to resolve the issue.

In this situation, I'd suggest contacting your ISP regarding the issue and making a report with them.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Thank you for your reply.

Sadly, attempting to get any support from my ISP has proven to be futile.
I'm sorry for opening this post since it indeed doesn't seem to concern FFXIV directly.

Something interesting to note, is how much my connection suffers whenever it goes through a node from NTT.
    For example:

yahoo.co.jp Host: Yahoo Japan Corp, City: Tokyo

    160ms

dmm.com Host: DMM LLC, City: Tokyo

    157ms

line.me Host: Line Corp, City: Tokyo

216ms on the last node that replies, notice NTT starting from node 5

livedoor.com Host: Line Corp, City: Tokyo

211ms on the last node that replies, notice NTT starting from node 5

Just as bad as clipping the GCD
    Thank you again.

Good morning and thank you for the reply.

We are able to offer a limited amount of trouble shooting for network issues. The trouble shooting we are able to provide can be used to make sure your connection to the game is more stable. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine what route your network takes to connect to Final Fantasy XIV. Just as Einmimiria suggested, I would recommend contacting your internet service provider as they would be able to assist in determining what could be causing the latency problems.
