I had heard otherwise, but if that's the case. Then I apologize for the misinformation!
Around ver. 3.3. I got the demo notice in email with 125 active of 318 members. This was when the crafter utils were still worth while and at least 70% of my FC useed them daily. We had 9 of the FC officers report it and had a gm in 35 minutes and no issues, in fact they still have the house long after I quit and rolled a diff account so I'm not sharing with younger brother. I'm sorry you're going through it, but reactive responses to SE vs. Proactive actions....
I'm sorry to the OP, this is horrible. But If I were crafting in my personal or FC house and received a demo notification, I'd be lighting up helpdesk the second I got it in game and waiting out a GM. This let me meddle with things that clearly aren't properly working, I'm sorry but that's insanity. You know do the things that didn't keep me off the list and no human interaction until after the fact and expect a different result. I hate to sound this way, but you waited for the bad thing to happen instead of reaching out for help ahead of time. On demo you get 70% of your gil back if you claim it in 45 days post demo, and also, ALL of my fixtures were at the Item NPC in that zone. My Lamps My floors, my Carbuncle Mansion walls all of it. My younger brother had no issues signing up for 8 retainers so we had enough room for the old house we shared under my character. I'm just sad I couldn't buy the plot back on this toon. Something doesn't add up with OP's post.
After skimming this thread, I observe three options:[U]Their response? They resent the bug form again. Nothing else. A slap in the face, really. They continued to send me automated messages.
I have been pouring money into this game for 3 years, and I am so disappointed in how SE handled this and how an issue on their end affected so much of my time and money. They refused to help rectify the situation so my last resort is to come here, hoping someone will hear what I'm saying and fix this issue.
1- Ignore the situation, and trust that bug does not reoccur.
2- Quit the game
3- Report the bug clearly and succinctly
Production and Q/A staff have specific workflows in order to avoid confusion, and reduce wasted effort. I would encourage people to use option (3), and hopefully enjoy the overall game.

On one hand: If I were OP, I would have immediately taken screenshots of the auto-demolition message. Screenshots of my character's ownership of the house in the Housing Menu. Screenshots of my character INSIDE the house at that moment. The fact that I have not seen any mention that OP did this, makes me suspicious that this is just a lie. Everyone knows how to screenshot. It's been a part of gaming for more than a decade.
On the other hand: If I'm experiencing a GAMEPLAY BUG involving in-game items, inside the game while the game is running, and the developers send me a request asking me what model motherboard and hard drive I am using. I'm going to call somebody a twit. That information is 100% irrelevant and just wasting everyone's time.

I'm sure you know this already but in case it hasn't already been said:
This should have been when you first contacted SE. Had they known about this before the demolition took place they could have completely prevented it from happening.
There are two main reasons why they would be disinclined to help you after the house is gone. First of all their customer service isn't known for being great. Secondly, I think they want to avoid the mess that is taking away someone else's plot so you can get your house back. The first one is obviously not forgivable. The second, I can easily see how that would be a tricky situation to navigate and impossible to solve without making someone very unhappy. Whatever they do in that situation, they look very bad.
However if they're contacted about a demolition malfunction before the demolition itself takes place, then they can do something without making another player unhappy. SE have proven many times already that they have systems in place to pause demolition.
Sigh I thought these rumours about demolition bugs were done many months ago but it seems they're back again. I wish SE would change the housing system so that demolition would no longer be necessary.
OP I hope that you can find a new home soon. I'm very sorry to read that you lost something you obviously loved to have and used very often. This shouldn't happen to anyone.
I didn't believe you until it just happened to my friend and I. We were both in it interacting with furniture just a few days ago last week, but logged in to play today and I was shocked to see that our Shirogane house was suddenly not on the teleport list and is now gone and someone else had already bought the lot. I wasn't expecting the auto demolish timer to just be 5 days instead of the 45 that it's supposed to be......? We've submitted a report but there's obviously no way we can get our house back. ._.

As was mentioned earlier in the thread, please go to this section of the forum and report the incident (using their template and with as much detail as you can provide): http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forums/632I didn't believe you until it just happened to my friend and I. Don't forget to have the owner of the house (unclear if it was you or your friend based on your story) retrieve the gil and furnishings from the resident caretaker in the housing area, too. If those are not available, include that in your bug report.
Best of luck!

I'm sad how you were treated. If I was with SE I'd refund your losses two fold since you lost your interior and your time invested. I hope you can have this issue solved nonetheless.
Not sure if you currently have a house but if you are on cerberus and you want to use my house, I have one slot left to share. Just hit me up in game under the name Guardian Angel.
