first impressions on the new server

just trying to get a feeling for what others are thinking after the first day merged together.

it's amazing how much different a game can feel when you actually have people online to play with. it's so much more enjoyable to play a mmo with other people as opposed to playing solo all day and lucky to get an event together in the evenings. it was such a breath of fresh air.

as of 3am eastern time we had 186 people online only english speaking players from 45-50. previous to the patch we were around 100 people total on karnak from 1-50 all languages. right after the merge went live i did a search and seen as many as 986 people online.

first impressions great to see everyone and those i didn't get a chance to meet today i look forward to getting the chance to meet you in the future. i'm hoping everyone else is enjoying the merge as much as i am.

well it takes a bit of working with numbers high like that it's not as accurate. you use the search through main menu, but instead of 1-50 all languages and all grand companies you break it down to smaller sections.

I'll focus on Ul'dah since I spend most of my time there. . . . Loud. That's my first impression @_@ My other impressions would be laggy, prone to crash and a city of invisible people due to game engine being unable to render big groups of people (move 2 steps in Aetherite plaza and you lose half the crowd you just had on the screen).

I do like the influx of people, I'm just mad at SE and the current game engine, but meh. . . . learning to live with it. Also, I'm perhaps not used to hearing whole conversations being carried out in /sh. Not sure how it were on other 2 servers, but Palamecia was rather quiet in that regard (not counting the LFP shouts of course). One thing is certain, it definitely feels more alive now.
