Why did this fail to achieve HQ?

I was around level 23, or so, when I tried to produce my very first HQ item.

The best that I could do was 83%, and wouldn't you know, I produced an NQ item.

Still, I continued practicing, and improving my crafting gear, such that now I can often get 100% using and NQ mats.

It seems almost certain to not produce HQ item for some reason. I had used up my pool of electrum, farmed up some more and craft again. So it has to be more than just an unlucky streak.

Also for gods sake what year is this? Why are there still forum that does not allow image upload?

Because the devs are in love with bad RNG mechanics.

Good rule. Since this thread I have failed 90+% a few times.

i crafted facet robe once, 97% and became normal quality, it sucked.

I have even failed to gather a item when said 100% rate. I have even failed to hq a item at 99%. I once went though over 100 materia when said 35% chance to socket. The rng sucks on this game.

Recently while overmelding I had back to back first trys at 10 & 7%. I still blew up a lot of meteria that day.

Means nothing.
